Hi
Laptop has been requesting to update to windows 11 but not selected as don't have time to change software. Woke up this morning to black screen with white dot circling. Turned lap-top off and restarted. Message appeared saying, preparing automatic repair. After a while the laptop goes to a blue screen and says it has it has to restart which it does but when it restarts, it goes straight back to the black screen saying 'preparing automatic repair' again. So it seems to be trapped in a loop.
Any advice on how to overcome this?
Have tried F8 but this isn't opening the boot menu.
F2 works.
Laptop is needed to access Uni work - local repair shops have been contacted but no-one can look till after Xmas - any help would be appreciated.

https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c04742289
select the keep my files optionA local install usually works, if it doesn't try the cloud install, but you will need to be plugged into the internet, wifi wont work if windows can't load.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
