If I get Bluetooth working with my home assistant it will be even better to track and create alarms.
Looks like there is custom firmware than can be uploaded to the device that makes it easier to link to H.A. or even ESPHome. Dammit. Something else for me to buy and play with...
I have been using a bunch of MODBUS SHT20 temperature/humidity sensors - Not as flexible as a battery operated device as you need to run cables around the place.. The alternative is to use an ESP32 board (got a few mains powered jobbies which are useful).
My issue is the VM(for HA)on a Dell 7070 Ultra can't see the BT, once I sort that I will consider the firmware option.

My phone can't see all monitors from the room that the pc is in so that may be the next issue.

New to this HA game not sure I want to become obsessed yet.

So went and bought one of those Xiaomi Mi devices (looks like a knock-off). First problem is getting it to work with the BT USB dongle on my desktop... Doesn't look like the dongle supports BLE.
Managed to grab the bindkey & MAC address using an Android tablet, so I'll use those numbers and flash an ESP32 board that has BLE support.
