automatically assumed that i wanted the same amount of text as i was getting free at he end of my contract ...instantly doubling the bill!!! then 15 minutes hanging on at customer dis-service to get them taken off! Thats the sort of treatment you can expect from a customer who had been with them for over 8 years, but is certainly leaving now!

I appreciate where you're coming from. I work for the company and have been there 5 years. In this space of time they've gone from a company listed in the top 100 companies to work for in England to one that will do anything to make a quick buck! I work in second line tech. support and have to deal with a constant stream of new starters who because of their sheer inability/unwillingness to grasp even the most basic billing queries and diagnostic questions make going to work every day like banging your head against a brick wall.
By that token spare a thought for the people who have worked there for some time and actually care about doing a decent job - making sure people don't have to call back. There's no fun getting someone who called half an hour ago come back through even more angry because their problem hasn't been resolved.First name Mister
