Morning All
It's not raining, it's not frosty and it's not windy! Hoping for some calm weather today, not sure the ground can take any more rain.
Hope you're resting and recovering Ruby, I too have a waggy finger!
Glad you're feeling better Coxy.
Fingers crossed for good results Mehefin.
How is your DD's house dp1?
Busy again yesterday, mostly giving out Christmas gifts to parents which was lovely. Today will be spent taking down the decorations at school and generally tidying up. It's a lovely feeling knowing we've survived the last few weeks, every year I forget how stressful this term is.
Main shop is done, I went on the way home, Aldi was pretty busy but not too bad and I'm glad that's done. Anything missing we can do without.
I'm having the little one overnight tonight so DD can get organised and do the shopping, she's feeling better but not great still. Fingers crossed she hasn't passed anything on to the little one. The doll's house is in the boot of my car, DD can take it out later as I'll bring her car here (saves swapping over the car seat).
Wishing everyone a stress free Friday, take care. XX10 -
hurrah last palliative radiotherapy treatment today. The whole thing has been utterly exhausting because I am on hospital transport which involves long waits and is very uncomfortable.
Just wanted to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and thanks for all the thoughts and good wishes.
will update occasionally15 -
Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.Went to Lidl yesterday for a big shop, and I went into N*w Look for the gift card I wanted for dgd.. I was going to go into M&S, but I changed my mind when saw how busy it was, there was nothing I had to have from there for Christmas, so I scuttled out.I'm meeting a friend for coffee this morning, in one of the local cafes, it's within walking distance for us both.I'll just potter on for the rest of the day.Ruby, hope you're doing as you're told and resting.Thoughts to our poorly people, Coxy, Poppy, Mehefin, and anyone else is is sad or not well.Take care today folks.11

Morning folks. My youngest nephew in QLD woke me up at 3.20am with a text asking if I wanted to FaceTime him and the children! I rolled over and fell back asleep. 🙃Lovely to see you posting Poppy, you can rest up and recover now.Camelot - I hope you get a little 'you' time soon.Scarlet - well done on finishing your shopping.Yesterday I did very little after coming back from town. In the afternoon my long travelled parcel from Berlin via Reading arrived. 😀 It's full of yummy Christmas goodies plus my cousin's partner's home made biscuits which are very welcome. A courier brought me a very large parcel of M&S assorted chocolate bars, I think there are eight, mostly dark chocolate which I'm not too keen on. However, it was lovely to be thought of.I have a small pile of presents to wrap which'll take 10 minutes. There's one to post so that'll have to wait until next week now. I've sent three close friends a bouquet of flowers each. 💐 The outside blue lights have died, perhaps the wind and rain were too much or maybe it's the batteries. They've only been in twice for six hours a time so I'll not be putting in new ones. This morning I'll have my usual three way phone call from Australia. Then I'll go back into town to collect my missing med. Apart from the short wrapping session that's my list finished. No mail coming now until Wednesday next week.I hope that all our poorlies are being looked after well. And that everyone has a not too fraught happy Friday.10

Morning all up early as i had a text at 6am to say the dogs frozen food would be delivered by 8am cue the doorbell at 6.30am so she is all set for xmas . I had a lovely lunch with my BFF we have been friends for 50 years now so it was nice to mark the milestone I was so full i didn't have dinner last night .
Today i am off to the jeweller to collect my new ring made from some of my mums jewellery and some rings that have been repaired i believe they belonged to my great grand parents from the hallmarks and just needed some TLC as they had lost small stones which have been replaced as well as having my lovely nana's engagement ring cleaned and fitted for me my mum gave it to me for my 50th but i was too afraid to wear it as it was loose so now i can wear it without worrying.last minute shopping for mince pies a loaf of bread and milk and anything else we will do without.Dinner tonight fishfingers chips and beans
Ruby I hope you are resting goodness me all the wagging fingers will see gale force winds
DP1 Hope the repairs at DD's are nearly finished

Morning folks and thanks NMLC. After no rain for weeks we are getting compensated with heavy rain all day on the forecast but it's not happened yet! I'm not going out so it can do what it wants out there!
POPPY it was good to hear your update and I hope you manage a comfortable, pain free Christmas. Thoughts with our other poorlies and convalescents too. MARIE how are you doing? RUBY I hope you are resting as you should be or there will be numerous fingers wagging at you!
I need to do a dust and vac all round this morning and then the hairdresser is coming around lunchtime to strew hair all over! I coloured my hair in readiness yesterday, the white roots were a disgrace. So it's skunk look no more this morning. John Frieda medium chocolate brown to the rescue.
I need to get some stuff out of the freezer later to defrost overnight. Some stuff to cook tomorrow to take to DD's on Xmas and Boxing days and some goodies for me in the meantime. Then I will give both freezers a good sort out as there is stuff rammed anywhere it shouldn't be. Disorganised freezers annoy me.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need of them. Take care one and all and be safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -

Morning! It's hammering down! And cold, but then, I have just got out of the shower and the heating is not on. I made sausage rolls with black pudding last night and some sweet chilli jelly which has thankfully set, after i swore lots at it and used some of the apples i boiled up. Five of the jars will be christmas presents, three then for us. All the sausage rolls are ours though
I finally cracked it after eight years of trying so I just have to make more, but they'll be given to people
Besides, there's a big chunk of black pudding winking at me in the fridge. Fetch OH from work later, fetch two things I bought on ebay, they're very very retro money boxes, do a bit of cooking, drink a lot of Baileys or a few Dark & Stormies , that's the rest of my day...I gave the boy at the tip a small box of chocs, he looked at me like he didn't know what to do with it, then poilte kicked in and he said thanks. Dont expect they get much usually..It was funny though...so the only people left to get are the normal postie and the green binmen.
camelot, I must admit, it never crossed my mind what happened to the christmas decs in school! You sound all ready though, well done on the dolls house too. Scarlet, big Tescos have loads of different gift cards that you can take and pay for on the cigarette counter which is usually a very fast moving queue if there is one...Gers, how lovely to have people thinking of you. But probably not at half three in the moringBella, lovely that you can use your familys jewellery. TA, no thoughts of shave it all off and let it go grey then? It was kind of forced on me but hoenstly, it's so much easier to look after, really wash and go...you do need a hat on your ears though
Izzy, have a super quick very early finish last day, you really deserve it. Snoozer, she's not a bit ppd is she? Nanny, same, i only did the neighbours cards last night..hope the cemetery was safe. Ruby, hope you're home comfortably. Nels, you're just great. And look after yourselves everyone...

Morning everyone
Had a lovely lie in - woke at 7am, put on a podcast and just heard the first 10 minutes before I was back to sleep. I don't know how anyone listens to a full audio book!
Going down to mam and dads this morning for a cuppa and to do his banking, then little one is coming after lunch and will stay the night. She is so so excited for Christmas she's fit to burst!
Izzy - enjoy your time off
Bella - my granny gave me her engagement ring when i was 18 and I've worn it all the time since.
Poppy - lovely to see you
Camelot - how lovely for your school to be given all those presents - the parents would be delighted
DD's house is sorted enough for them to be living in it - will be decorated in the New Year. Little one is telling everyone that there's still a big brown mark on her bedroom ceiling and the hole is in bin bags in the garden! They were so lucky to be back home so quickly.
Well I'd better move - hope everyone has a good day x10 -
Morning everyone.
Heard it raining in the night and it's still raining this morning. Luckily we don't need to go out anywhere today, unless DH wants to walk up the road for a paper. I did all the shopping yesterday so don't really need any more food, although I might scour Waitrose tomorrow afternoon for any last minute bargains
I do have a bit of ironing to do and then I must do the wrapping. One bag of small presents is wrapped but there are three more bags to do; not much in the grand scheme of things so I just need to get on and do it. They are stocking filler type gifts; we do a family Secret Santa between the five of us nowadays and this year I drew DD.
Wishing everyone a great time at Christmas. I'll be out playing for the Morris on Boxing Day so hope the rain has stopped by then!
