Ebay and DRS

Options
Hi everyone, Ebay and now the DRS keep harassing me and advice would be appreciated. A little back story a buyer bought my item and I told the buyer it would be late as i was on holiday at the time and after about a week i sent it out, she requested a refund as it didn’t arrive after a week or so but i kept saying i have sent it which i did and provided tracking details. Also i have never received my item back. i refused to pay the refund as i don’t think it’s my fault as i provided tracking details and there was strikes going at at the time so i feel like it’s the post offices fault not mine. However Ebay kept harassing me to pay and now it’s gone to a collections agency, i just need advice on what to do, will they take me to court? do i have to pay? can i keep ignoring? The amount i need to pay is £27.

My ebay account has been suspended as i refused to pay so i do not know if it was delivered but if i could make an educated guess i would say it would of been delivered after the strikes were over, all i know is that i sent the item out and provided tracking details to the buyer

You don’t need access to eBay to get the tracking, do you have you COP the details will be on there?

Realistically though the eBay t and cs do require a seller to refund within a certain time frame , if you failed to do that and eBay forced the refund then you do need to pay. Then if item didn’t show as delivered you reclaim your losses from RM. It is always the sellers responsibility to ensure buyer gets their item or a refund, it’s just eBay can have short time frames.

Did you have your holiday settings on to extend your dispatch time , otherwise buyers can open an INR early without the item having a chance to get there.

Since you did not refund the buyer then yes, you need to pay ebay as they refunded the buyer on your behalf.

it’s been a few months that was in august but the drs has been texting me recently, so i’m not quite sure what to do i can’t log into my ebay account to pay, i can’t make a one time payment, the drs texting me doesn’t have any contact info (which is odd i find), i did contact ebay saying i want to pay and they stated i will have to pay the collections agency but the number they gave me i googled was a scam number who impersonate paypal? so i’m really at a loss of what i’m supposed to do.
