Good morning, it's an early start here following a bad night.
It just looks damp outside - yesterday was cold and windy but bright.
Visited a friend yesterday morning, they were preparing for a Christmas party at the complex where she lives, it was all very festive. I didn't stay long, didn't want to get in the way!
Just did house stuff for the rest of the day. We're going out for a biggish shop this morning, and I need to buy a gift card at N*w Look for dgd. I went into their big shop in Newcastle on Tuesday but the checkout queues were terrifying, and I couldn't face it.
Ruby, hope you are home and starting to feel a bit better. i recovered surprisingly quickly after a hysterectomy, but mine was probably more straightforward than yours, it was for a prolapse.. I felt a bit wobbly for a week, then suddenly much better.
Thoughts to our other poorly or sad people, take care today folks.

Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark damp and windy start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was use up from the fridge, burgers, chips, chicken breasts in bbq sauce and rice. Tonight will be spag bol.
Last day at work for me until next Wednesday - when I'm working for half a a day.
I still have a few things to do either tonight after work or tomorrow but need to get it done.
Keep safe and well x

Morning All
After epic rain last night it seems a lot calmer this morning.
Ruby - hope you made it home and make a speedy, pain free recovery.
Sorry to hear your DM's home is under quarrantine again Nelski and you can get to see her soon. She sounds to be very happy where she is.
Great tree Gers, hope it's still standing!
Scarlet, I would have left the shop too.
Busy day yesterday, got to work for an hour then to Ikea with a colleague, he's quite a young lad and didn't have a clue, kept losing the list and was easily distracted! We had breakfast there as the shop wasn't open, actually quite a good trip.
The school were gifted thousands of pounds worth of wrapped presents by a big store so we spent the afternoon sorting them, there are enough for P1-4 to get a present each with one also for the older siblings. The parents should be picking them up this morning.
DD phoned me at work later in the afternoon, she has a sickness bug and could I take the little one to her swimming lesson. Went to pick her up and the little one slipped on the wet grass outside the house so she had a wet bottom, back in for a change. Her lesson was good, she really enjoys it but she slipped and banged her chin in the changing room - she's sporting a lovely bruise! Managed to bring her round with the promise of chips so she had those on the way home. Her Daddy arrived home (DD was asleep upstairs), he took her to the toilet and managed to jam her finger in the door - more screaming! She then didn't make it to the toilet and her and Daddy were a bit wet. I made a speedy escape once she was calm.
Went to get something for DS2s partner to give to DS2 and the tyre pressure light came on so had to go pump them up. Eventually got home about 7.30 absolutely exhausted to catch up with some work on the laptop. What a day!
Anyway, hoping today is calmer and I can actually get some work done and pick up my Secret Santa, I missed it yesterday.
Hope you're doing well and don't wear yourselves out before the weekend. Take care. XX10 -
Morning all,
Haven't been on for a few days as was taken ill on the train home from work on Monday night. Thought I was going to faint or have a stroke - not even kidding. DD picked me up from the station and I spent the next 36 hours in bed. Has done wonders for my weightloss. Not sure what it was but now back and fighting fit and will WFH the next two days.
@ScarletRibbons hope your aches and pains are under control. I believe you can get giftcards at most supermarkets now instead of the actual shop. Might save you one queue at least.
@Nelski glad you got to see your DMum
Well done on the raffle win @camelot1001 but oh no to the dramas of yesterday.
I'm sorry if I've missed others news - was asleep!
Dinner tonight is chicken pesto pasta. DS2 is working, so just the three of us eating. Looking forward to it now my appetite has returned. In crochet news(!) I've finished the stripes of the blanket and have sewn in the ends. Now need to do 5, yes 5(!) borders - thought it was only 4. Will make a start after work later. DH managed to get a turkey crown yesterday and the booze gifts, so just the wrapping to do now.
Hope you're all doing okay.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. A sleepless night for me too - they get jading don't they!
RUBY I hope you are now home and pain free. CAMELOT what a day yesterday! Hope today is a better one!
I had a good day out yesterday but, for some reason, very few stalls had set up on the market. The sweetie man was there so I got my tin restocked with Everton mints and Mint humbugs. Priority! Skipton wasn't as busy as we had expected so we were able to amble round the shops leasurely. Cancer Research had already reduced their Xmas cards so we picked up a couple of packs half price for next year. I really think a lot of people haven't bothered sending them this year, I have got less than usual this time. My DF said the same.
Today I have a few jobs lined up. First the dw filter, how I hate that job! Some washing to put in and some cleaning to do. And my grey (white) roots need addressing too at some point.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, fed up, convalescing or MIA. Take care all and stay safe. The flu bug seems rife around these parts, just in time for Christmas! xx

Morning folks.
The high winds seem to have died down and my little tree is still intact. 😀
Yesterday the practice nurse rang me to change my meds so we had a good old chat. I mentioned my increasingly bad mobility, I will have to the GP about it, and discussed that my NHS region has a seven year waiting list for orthopaedic surgery. 😱 Once we're in 2023 I'll make a decision of some sort.
The big parcel I sent on to my cousin's daughter arrived a day late yesterday so I've put a refund claim into Royal Mail as I used Special Delivery which was so expensive. Meanwhile my parcel from her was sent ordinary mail last Thursday and still hasn't arrived, for me it's not so time critical, just annoying.
Camelot - what an amazing gift for the school and children. I'm always in awe of how easily you approach going to IKEA.
Scarlet - huge queues are so off putting.
Taff - thanks for all the Christmas tunes, great work this year. 🎶🎄
Ruby - I hope that you're back home now and getting lots of rest.
I'm still snuggled down waiting for dawn to start creeping in. My idle time is spent catching up listening to the last 20 minutes or so of three podcasts which I've fallen asleep to this week. My favourite is 99% Invisible, the topics are so interesting though it's the host's voice which sends me to sleep, he's so soothing. 😀
Happy Thursday to all.

Morning
Ruby got to go home yesterday. Hopefully an early night in her own bed will have been a relief and she has begun her recovery Prepare to get your wagging finger ready for any sneaky housework that she attempts!
Plumber came yesterday and changed the part. Not convinced its working properly yet will have see how today goes. I do like him and he's worked with me for years but right now I feel he's joined the family!
Asda Christmas slot arrives this morning seems mostly there apart from a couple of acceptable subs
volunteer calls this afternoon

Morning all damp and foggy here in outer London but hopefully it will clear soon .I am off out to a posh restaurant i asked my daughter for recommendations she said it was nice but expensive but when i looked at the lunch menu i thought it was reasonable £22 for 2 courses with my bestie we have been friends since playschool so 50 years now . Our lives have taken very different paths but we have remained close all these years its my turn to drive so hoping they have some alcohol free prosecco or its good old lime and soda for me .

Hello all, it's misty and mizzly today and doesn't bode well for a visit to the cemetery. The weather dried up yesterday so we checked the van and posted a few local cards, I'm so late with those this year. I have a few other errands to run this morning and then the DGC to pick up at school time. They are staying for a beef roast meal but we'll wait until DD and Jasper arrive as SiL is going to watch Liverpool.
Nels glad you got to see your Mum.
Ruby I hope you had a comfortable night. Take care and look after yourself.
Have a good day if you can, stay safe and take care

Morning all from dull mehefinland
Saw the consultant haematologist at local big horsepital. They are concerned about my red blood cell count, particularly platelets .They insisted I had to see them before Xmas. Don't really know whats going on but my bloodcounts have been in the same ballpark for the last 16years. Vampire took yet more bloods.Alcohol was mentioned ( how very dare they) but I haven't had a drop since this all kicked off earlier this month. Bought so zero alc red wine - absolutely foul, tasted like beetroot vinegar with a dash of disinfectant!! Made me heave! So I sneaked a mouthful of Mrs Ms wine and quite honestly that tasted pretty foul too. My tastebuds are all over the place.
Any suggestions for non alcoholic drinks that are not pure sugary carbonated water?
Hope all the poorlies are on the road to recovery
Hufs and spoons as always
