WHD - tax credits renewal?
I received letter notification of my overpayment in the summer, and that I'd pay it back next year as I expected.
Some time after I received another letter from HMRC which overstated my expected salary (£44000). I think this was an updated award notice?
So, if I go by my salary on the renewal I qualify, if I go by the salary updated tax award I don't, which letter would take precedence?
Although HMRC overstated my salary i never corrected it on the off chance our household income increased further, and I knew I'd have to repay pretty much all TC received this FY either way.
Thank you

The qualifying date was 21st August 2022. So if your tax credits changed before this date you won't qualify.

In that case I shall just miss out, my actual increase puts me above the salary cut off. Shame they don't make this clearer on the eligibility toolpoppy12345 said:The qualifying date was 21st August 2022. It does mention it. What it asks you in one of the questions is "whose name was on the electric bill covering the date 21st August 2022".

It does, but the financial eligibility asks you to state your salary on your last renewal letter not your salary on the 21st August.poppy12345 said:annabanana82 said:

Reviewing the gov page it does refer to income being on the previous tax year, see below:Threshold table
The table below, Table 4, shows the actual income thresholds that would be applied to households according to different numbers of adults and children. The assessed income would be for a previous tax year, specifically the most recent income available used by HMRC to calculate the individual’s tax credit award prior to the WHD qualifying date. This tax year used may vary depending on an individual’s circumstances.
Whilst I personally can manage without the WHD (though nice to have) there must be others that may not have that luxury
