Universal credit and wage back pay

My husband and I are both going to receive some back pay in our wages this month which will mean getting a nil award for universal credit in January.
Could anyone tell me if our claim will just stay open and go back to normal in February when when we get less wages, or do we have to reclaim? And if we have to reclaim will it be a 5 week wait the same as when first claiming?

I am almost certain it will stay open and be back to normal in February.1

Currently I would expect the claim to stay open.
Just keep an eye on your journal. In the unlikely event that the claim is closed your journal will remain accessible and there will be an option to do a rapid reclaim which maintains your existing UC monthly assessment periods.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Thank you both. I don't understand the surplus earnings rule, we are getting around £3000 in total and have the UC work allowance of £573, am I right thinking there won't be any to carry over to the next month?0

That sounds correct.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
