We buy basic ingredients such a litre Greek Style yoghurt and add fruit or home made jam, so we avoid the HPF in individual fancy pots, especially plastic. I have some small pretty jam jars my friends give me to re-use, and they are useful for a bit of homemade pudding in lunch boxes, a bit of rice pudding or custard or a trifle.
I have a few vintage table napkins arriving soon.3 -

Back to Bedale car boot this morning. (@Miro, I haven't forgotten to post a picture of the chambray dress, but it's in the ironing pile).
This morning I found:
a book for me £1
3 books for DGD 60p
Tomato plant 50p
Courgette plant £1
Mug (gift for a hedgehog fan) £1.50
I also bumped into someone I've not seen for a while and had a quick catch up.
Didn't go to Thirsk this afternoon, it would have been baking. I stayed at home and put plants in bigger pots.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)

We went to the Thirsk car boot today and it was boiling hot….came away with nothing at all but did pop into the charity shops in Thirsk itself and picked up a nice Stella saucepan….it had a dirty bottom 🤭 but some steel wool and elbow grease soon sorted it. £5.95Cherryfudge said:Back to Bedale car boot this morning. Ah! The Thirsk charity shops! Did you notice the Frade shop in Northallerton has gone? I think the nearest one might be Stokesley now. I was always bewildered by it, though as there didn't seem to be any prices.

Never made it to Frade sadly….but then I only found the Yorkshire Cancer Research shop last Sunday and that was a waste of time as it was shut despite a notice on the door saying it was open on Sundays!Cherryfudge said:

It's tucked away, is that shop. I have a feeling they are short of staff due to holidays but I was in there the other day and there was a beautiful solid 'farmhouse-type' pine table which I'm sure will be snapped up.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)

I went to my my second favourite chazzer yesterday and came away with a beautiful Principles evening dress, an Oliver Bonas blouse (originally retailing at £55 but now appears to be reduced to £17), a pair of summer trousers, 3 large scarves and 6 books for a total of £10.

Am I the only one who struggles with the concept of baking or boiling weather in North Yorkshire? It is beautiful here on the Essex Riviera now summer proper is underway, and living here is an absolute blessing.No man is worth crawling on this earth.
