HSBC credit card opening taking forever

Not really a question, more of a rant. I applied for a credit card from HSBC mid-November. It went to a fraud check and I had to confirm my identity, as I'd just moved house it took me a while to get together my passport and a document to be able to do this. I did it 3 weeks ago and had heard nothing. Multiple calls to HSBC, each time on hold for an hour before speaking to someone, eventually I got the T&Cs to sign on Monday. That done, still nothing, now it'll be a further couple of weeks before they send me the card - and of course there are postal strikes. They haven't even confirmed the credit limit either. In the meantime I'm paying a fortune in interest - as I was buying a house I wasn't able to transfer before the interest free period ended. Just so frustrated - I've never had an account opening take so long, some previous cards I've literally been approved and able to balance transfer straight away before the card even arrives. I'm seriously wondering whether it's worth applying for another at this point, or taking a shorter interest free period on an existing card, as it's just ridiculous!

HSBC are never the fastest. But chuck in moving etc & you are slap bang in the "How long is a bit of string" zone depending how busy they are.
