new dfs fabric sofa puddling (sagging)

My brand new DFS fabric sofa is wrinkled. A 'specialist' from the company popped round, called it puddling and said it was perfectly natural. Surely this happens when it gets older and stretches, a new one should not have saggy seats and wrinkled seams? Do I have any rights?

Yes, you have rights. But whether you have a case in this circumstance, I have no idea.If it's 'brand new', are you within the period where you can reject it/ cancel the order?Do you have Legal Protection on your house insurance? If so, call them for guidance. If not, try CAB.

Sounds like a complete waste of time. Unfortunately I find this par for the course with SCS, DFS etc. about 15 years ago I bought my first house and spent about £1500 on a four seater suede sofa and the covers were slipping round the foam within weeks and had noticeable seat-dents where people sat. Luckily we had paid for the insurance, or so we thought, but when they came round it was meant to be how sofas work and totally normal. Some people are fine with their purchases, it depends on model and material etc - but I'd never buy another sofa from either of these type of company.3 -
Well it wasn't a waste of time in my case !
After my complaint to supplier
FIRA were called out by the supplier
Their guys visited our house. inspected the furniture agreed with our case,
So found in my favor and the supplier removed duff 3 piece sofa and chairs and refunded
But this was back in 2008 and supplier was BHS

Edit : Sorry look like I linked to the wrong organisation in my first reponse
