Curve support (no receipt emails)

Hi

I've been a happy user of Curve's payment card, mainly in order to free me from Barclaycard's horrible contactless payment app. That was until recently when I discovered that it had stopped emailing me transaction receipts.

I raised it with support nearly a month ago and they prompted me to do the usual app uninstall/reinstall dance but of course it didn't fix the issue. Despite my multiple prompting and them occasionally apologising for the delay and escalating it to a "dedicated team" they have not responded any futher.

Are Curve about to fail? I thought they'd received additional funding recently. https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/curve/company_financials
Or is there another way to allow Google Pay to use Barclaycard contactless?

If it is a technical issue, then it can takes a while to fix, they get prioritised depending on how important they are. While they are looking into the issue. No one will keep you updated, as it is a waste of staff time, until they have a fix.

I can appreciate that technical issues can take a while to resolve but it has been broken for nearly two months. IME things like this do not take this amount of time (unless of course it is one of the High St banks where it doesn't even work properly in the first place and they have zero interest in solving customer issues).
All changes will have been frozen now in any case. Well the rest of the banking sector will have ...

Also Customer Support 101 is to maintain contact, even if there is no update. Otherwise folks seek others' experience elsewhere in public ...

Issue might not be at their end.

While it would be nice to keep people updated, time & cost constraints come into play. made worse, by people sending countless emails in asking the same question because they have not had a reply. Takes staff time to deal with. When there is no update.

If numerous people ask the same question, it would be worth them sending an email to everyone explaining the issue

Well they do have a status page https://status.curve.com/ which says everything is fine, with "No incidents reported", even historically. So the page is obviously BS.

Digging around I found a community page https://community.curve.com/tag/support where it seems that many others have been experiencing their woeful support delays.

Today I *finally* received a response from Curve support, which basically acknowledged my problem but admitted that they had no timescale to resolve it.
Thankfully my issue does not concern a fraudulent transaction, but from the experiences of others in this regard I'll be ditching Curve as soon as I can find a replacement.

I'd heard that Barclays are planning to finally enable Google Pay later this year.

    Tx, that does sound promising.
I read on Reddit that Barclaycard didn't allow it to be added to Google Pay on Android since NFC (on Android) was open access (unlike on iphones) but I'm not an expert on this!

I do know that the Barclaycard app was effectively unusable by either it constantly forcing me to sign new T&Cs or updating the app with no warning and forcing me to set it up again. Not great when at the till trying to pay!
