Boots click and collect delay 8 days refund

I ordered click and collect from Boots meant to be there last week never arrived, chasing them no use they got no idea, I'm told I have to wait 8 days from delivery date before they even process a refund I can't find it in there terns and conditions anyone else got refunds earlier? It was click and collect so once the delivery date passed I had to buy the item else where and I don't want the Boots item if it ever turns up, I don't think its fair they make you wait 8 days for their screw-up.
I had same issue last year with boots thought it one off but they seem completely incompetent with online orders then expect the customer to be out of pocket to suit Boots, it feels very under hand by Boot's.

Royal Mail has been on strike and all the couriers are having delays due to staff shortages and being overwhelmed with deliveries due to Christmas and the strikes.
Waiting 8 days for something to be delivered doesn't seem unreasonable.0 -

Not sure about boots specifically but some retailers do use couriers for their “to store” click and collect.
The last click and collect I had from currys/pc world had a courier label on it for example.0 -
Have you clearly told Boots that you are exercising your statutory right to cancel the order under The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (legislation.gov.uk)?
According to s34 of those regulations Boots have up to 14 days after either (a) they receive the goods back or (b) you supply proof of you sending the goods back to them, in which to refund you.
So you're probably going to have to wait longer unless you can persuade Boots that it's got lost...0 -
