Second this! I use zinnser 123 for all my priming needs and you don't need to sand and it just sticks to it with no problems. I hate sanding so it's made the job of painting all the doors and skirtings enjoyable.benson1980 said:On a slight sidenote but on the subject of painting skirting boards, are they painted gloss currently? I have tended to just sand ours when redecorating, but the last room I did I also used the Zinseer 123 primer after sanding. This has given a much better and more resilient finish- so worth a look as said if you are painting over gloss.
It's also a stain block, goes over tiles etc, it's so versatile you should always have it in the house. Go for the water based version though.0
