Savings account with dual authorisation to withdraw

Options
Hi

I'm looking for an account which requires dual authorisation to make a withdrawl.  Ideally opened and managed online and benefiting from some interest earned.  It's a short term account between the two account holders.  The only one I'm aware of (used before) is Secure Trust Access Account, but that's limited to £85k total for the account and we want to put in more but still kept below the £170k FSCS for joint accounts.   Of all the joint accounts opened over the years I've never had one requiring dual authorisation for a withdrawl.  Any suggestions?

Thanks

I have come across accounts where two signatures are required but they could not be operated on line.

By way of example, a friend  of mine operates an account with his brother - either they must both appear in branch to make a withdrawal or one signs a cheque and sends/gives it to the other for signature.

Building societies offer accounts where two signatures are required.

Can I open a joint account with my husband/wife/partner?

There are two options for how the account is set up: 1. Both signatures – this means that for any withdrawal or on closure of the account, both of you will be required to sign the forms. 2. Either signature – this means that for any withdrawal or on closure of the account only one signature is required. You should only open a joint account if you and the other account holder understand the commitments you are entering into. ISA accounts can only be opened in sole name.

  • Thanks xylophone, I'll look at branch based accounts.  That'll be a novelty going in to a branch.
