Hi all, sorry for the slow update.
First two days have gone ok, I feel exhausted though. So much to learn, and for the techy's out there, we use PC`s, whereas I've been using Apple Mac's for 15 years. I knew this beforehand, but I'm struggling a bit getting used to it.
All the people are nice, and I did express to my manager that I'm a little bit anxious about line-managing a member of staff, but he said not to worry about it and I will settle into it, and they can support me within the role.
My anxiety has ramped up a bit in general though. Heart's been racing a bit since starting and I'm feeling a bit shakey. All a bit pathetic I know, but oh well.5 -
Glad it went ok.And behave yourself with comments about it being “a bit pathetic.” It’s no such thing. You wouldn’t say it to someone else, so don’t say it to yourself.Do you have any techniques for managing the anxiety -what’s worked for you before? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.2 -

I have done hypnotherapy in the past for anxiety and IBS (gut hypnotherapy), so I'm going to starting listening to the tracks again tonight.1 -
When I was suffering with anxiety, I found guided meditation mp3's to be really helpful. There are plenty of free ones you can download (Dartford College USA, did a "Tree frog in a rainforest" one that's really relaxing) Normal meditation never worked for me, I couldn't calm my over-thinking mind without the guidance. Even good old-fashioned deep breaths can help.
Anxiety is horrible, I hope you can overcome it eventually. New jobs are nerve-wracking for everybody - you're worrying because you care about doing a good job. I'll bet you'll be fine. Best of luck!0
