  • Hi, thank you so much for sharing your experiences with Yoga car insurance! This is good to know as they got surprisingly good reviews on Trustpilot etc, and I nearly decided to go with them. Not anymore!

I am interested what happened to those of you who where threatened with possibly having to pay thousands of £s for your "courtesy car" that turned out to be a hire car.

Also, has anyone ever contacted Trading Standards or the Ombudsman Services about this? It's absolutely outrageous what Yoga and One Call are doing!!!

Same as has been happening for over 20 years, people play ball, do what the accident management company ask and so ultimately the third party insurer pays out whatever they pay out and the rest is written off.

Admiral Group have been doing it for years on all fault claims, many insurers have done it for hire cars when a PH calls and says the Corsa the garage has offered them isnt appropriate etc.

I would be surprised if companies are legally doing anything wrong, the problem is that customers dont listen and dont read what they sign. They then claim after the matter that they didnt know anything about it. Ok I know I work in the industry so know better than most but even before that knew a courtesy car was a little 3 door thing that was given to me by the garage doing the repairs so clearly Enterprise turning up with a BMW M5 or something is not a standard courtesy car and the fact I bought my policy because it was the cheapest I could find would make such a high end replacement vehicle even more questionable as to why its turned up.

A quick glance at ombudsman cases shows its more a mix bag on if the ombudsman feels the customer was clearly told about the fact they were going to a credit hire route when the referral was made or not so a good proportion clearly were told but didnt listen.
