single oven sizing - is it the size of gap or size of front face panel

Options

I need a new built in single oven - The AO.com web site measurement guide says they are all a standard size 59.5 x 59.5 x 55 deep

However, my gap is 55cm wide and the front face of my existing one which overhangs the cabinet to mask the edges of course is 59.5cm wide - im confused as to whether my oven is a standard 59.5cm (the size of the front face panel) or if mine should be a 55cm wide single oven (the size of the gap)

Thanks for any advice

I am sure both yours and AO's fit into a standard oven cabinet that is 60 cm wide, including side walls. The inner size is smaller.

As expected, the oven fitted perfectly in the gap.

What grumbler said was spot on - the kitchen cabinet is 600mm wide total including the sides and the gap in the middle is around 560mm - most single ovens would have slotted in - all seem to be the correct shape to accommodate the potential presence of a gas pipe for a hob as well.

Ref ao.com - ordered the new oven on Sunday afternoon, was delivered as requested Monday AM - Ok, I paid for delivery and many do expect this kind of speed for items from the likes of Amazon but thats great service for a major kitchen appliance.

No doubt you'll soon be getting the phone calls encouraging you to take out the AO extended warranty plan.

In my experience they would usually try and up-sell that earlier in the process when they call "to confirm the delivery arrangements" or similar. They've always been perfectly polite when I've declined firmly though. I don't let it put me off using ao.com as I have found them good otherwise.

They'll call after a year as well.
