Gers said:Anyway, the wrapping paper is very tatty and ripped so that needs sorted out. I may have to go out to buy a large posting bag, I'm hoping I already have one tucked away.
I did have a posting bag even though it wasn't big enough to use conventionally, I cut it open and then wrapped it around the torn and tattered bits which has worked perfectly. All ready to go. Then I solved another problem (on a roll today) when I found that the thick padded plastic 'bottle' which protected the gin I bought recently was perfect to stuff two jars of the blooming Branston Pickle into so that's all ready for posting too. Happy Gers!
Thanks for the carol Taff - another happy / sad memory zapped into my mind.7 -
Afternoon everyone
Very icy and slippy here today but it's meant to be the last really cold day today.
I took little one to a childrens Christmas church service this morning with my mam - they both loved it! Mam doesn't go as regularly now but I spent a lot of my childhood in church. It was a lovely lively service with costumes for the children to wear - little one was a donkey, a camel and then a king! She kept the 2 old ladies behind us amused. Cakes, chocolate lollies and drinks afterwards.
DD took us down and picked us up again and styed with grandad in between.
This afternoon I'm going to get some more presents wrapped - I haven't got anything done the last few days with little one here. Eldest DD gets back to Edinburgh at 3.45 and luckily my brother flies back from Lanzarote too this afternoon and gets in at 4pm so she'll get a lift home. She's requested a chippy tea so no cooking tonight. So looking forward to seeing her - it's almost 4 months since I was there in the summer.
Better get on. Hope everyone has a good day x9 -
taff, I'm not that far from WL, she sometimes visits the bird reserve here, but probably a bit far for the tractors to travel. I couldn't believe the number, they stretched for 2 or 3 miles of road.
I ended my morning post a bit abruptly because Esben was trying to help me with my post and the last time he did that he lost my cursor.
The pork was lovely, I make it in a tomato sauce, cut slices off for the evening meal and then turn the rest and the sauce into pork, broccoli and taleggio lasagne.
Have a good evening.3 -
@snoozer I'll let you know when I'm next over and we can have that coffee
@taff I'm in the town with the first ever M1 Service Station! Apparently today's tractor run raised £600 for our local hospice so that was very good.
Trying to clear some of the recordings on our Skybox now as it wouldn't pause the World Cup football and told us the disk was full!2
