Afternoon - I made it back home safe and sound. There were a few hairy places and one scary moment on the approach to the Rest but all is well. Before I left Glasgow I stopped for a few bits and pieces at M&S, I didn't buy as much as I intended because I have a freezer full of stuff if I get locked in this week, so I mostly got fresh vegetables and milk. On the way back to my car a very nice chap from M&S carried my bags and let me link with him as the pavements were still pure ice, it was treacherous. Staff from HSL, Aldi and M&S were out throwing salt around and helping customers, all very lovely. The route home was littered with abandoned lorries, cars and coaches (two services coaches stuck in Loch Fyne Oyster Bar car park, and lots of crashed cars too, one on its side, one upside down and many just in ditches. I'm so glad that I didn't go out last night and haven't stayed for lunch today. Now I've unpacked, switched on my electric throw, eaten my emergency sandwich and ready for Meet me in St. Louis! Thanks for the Christmas song Taff.Izzy - hope that the gymnastics display is wonderful.9

Evening everyone
A late one from me - never seem to get the chance to switch laptop on when little one is here!
The plan was that she and DD would be back home on Monday but another leak was discovered this morning and the carpets are wet again so no idea what's happening now.
Thanks for all the good wishes.
Little one told me this morning that she really wants to go home to her own house now - she's very nervous and the slightest creak or noise makes her worry the ceiling is about to fall down.
My heating was thankfully fixed about 5 hours after I reported it and mam and dads has been now too.
I took little one to the pantomime this afternoon - she absolutely loved it - though found the pantomime dame very confusing - 'But what is he granny - a man or a lady?' said very loudly of course.
I have eldest DD coming home from Germany tomorrow for 2 weeks - it will be lovely to see her. No idea who's sleeping where but i do have a sofa bed.
Sorry I caught up on 3 days so can't remember what you all said, but happy birthday to Nelski and pleased you got home safely Gers.
Take care everyone x5 -
