UKPC CCJ - Work Car Park

Hi all,

I have recieved a CCJ claim form from a parking fine in 2020, where I was parked for longer than the "permitted" time whilst working. At the time I had recieved letters from UKPC however, to my knowledge we had but this on our system at work which would get them written off and the number plates exempted. Two years down the line I have recieved a CCJ, and although I have spoken to our contact at UKPC, they are unable to do anything due to the stage it is at.

I have read through lots of threads, including the newbies thread and as a result have completed the AOS and have until the start of January to write a defence, I have started this using the tempates provided on the forum, but would be welcome to some suggestions for my defence as it is a difficult situation as I thought it had been written off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello and welcome.

It looks like you may have received a County Court Claim Form.
That is not a CCJ - a County Court Judgment.

What is the Issue Date on your County Court Claim Form?

Upon what date did you file an Acknowledgment of Service?
Your MCOL Claim History will have the definitive answer to that.
  • The issue date is the 29th - I have filed an AOS today (as a result of having a reply eventually from our work contact) who said I would in this case need to a defence to proceed.

I hope that's 29th November, otherwise you may well have a CCJ.   :)

With a Claim Issue Date of 29th November, and having filed an Acknowledgment of Service in a timely manner, you have until 4pm on Tuesday 3rd January 2023 to file your Defence.

That's over two weeks away. Plenty of time to produce a Defence, but please don't leave it to the last minute.
To create a Defence, and then file a Defence by email, look at the second post in the NEWBIES thread.
Don't miss the deadline for filing a Defence.

Do not try and file a Defence via the MoneyClaimOnline website. Once an Acknowledgment of Service has been filed, the MCOL website should be treated as 'read only'.

    It is not a fine?

What happened when you complained to your employer, landowner, and your MP? That is always Plan A and it is never too late to initiate it.

What does your employment contract say about unregulated private parking companies, PCNs, paying PCNs, and court? What it doesn't say is just as important.
What does it say about working hours, and how long you are permitted to work before the workforce are issued with parking charges?

Are you a member of a trade union? If so, your union rep should be all over this like a rash.

If it is a claim form then, when they say they can't do anything about it due to the stage it's at, they are lying, in the hope you will pay up.

They can of course discontinue the claim, and they can put a stop to this, but why do that when it would stop then taking money from you.
