John Lewis Partnership Credit Card

I wonder if anyone has any knowledge on how many John Lewis credit cards you are allowed to have pkease? Like Capitalone own Ocean so you can have an Ocean and Capitalone card with them (as I do), I know American Express let you have more than one card as well but is John Lewis the same does anyone know?
I already had a John Lewis credit card for a while now which I use regularly and pay off monthly. Today I logged into Clearscore to find I was pre approved for another John Lewis membership credit card. I clicked the button and it said congratulations your are approved, then I just had to sign the credit agreement and my new card is now on the way.
It's a different card account with a different credit limit to my existing one. I wasn't aware this was even possible? As I said, you can have more than one card with some providers but I wasn't aware they where one of these providers?

Uhm.... anyone?0

How long have you had your original JL card? JL cards used to be provided by HSBC but JL terminated that arrangement and the cards stopped working at the end of October. All cardholders should have been invited to re-apply for the new JL card, which is run by NewDay.

I got invited to apply for the NewDay one and got it. I’ve also seen me pre approved twice recently via credit brokers for the same card. But this would be the one available to all with different ts&cs wouldn't it? And why would you want another one anyway? I’ll speak for myself and say no, because I’m happy with the one I’ve got thanks. And to be honest with you if you went through the final checks you could get declined and it would leave a hard search on your credit history.J63320 said:How long have you had your original JL card? The old JL card was run through HSBC and you should not have been able to use that past 31 October. The new JL card is run through New Day. Maybe that is the one you are pre approved for? You should not be able to use the old one now.RhondaD said:I wonder if anyone has any knowledge on how many John Lewis credit cards you are allowed to have pkease? They are both New Day. That's the bit that baffles me because I've definitely been approved for another and the card is on the way. I can log into two separate accounts and both have different credit limits, both registered to the same email address. Just different usernames. Different rates but both New Day John Lewis credit cards. Neither are the old HSBC.enthusiasticsaver said:

It's already been approved. It's on the way. The account is active. I can now log in to two different New Day John Lewis credit card accounts and they both have different credit limits.jimroy said:RhondaD said:Uhm.... anyone?

NewDay don't want customers to have multiple cards, but they don't have a single customer view that ties everything together so can't stop it
They will occasionally run manual checks and close or merge duplicates accounts.0 -
Thank you. So is it possible I could have both cards linked in the app as separate facilities where I can switch between cards to manage the accounts? This is what Capitalone do and American Express.MorningcoffeeIV said:NewDay don't want customers to have multiple cards, but they don't have a single customer view that ties everything together so can't stop it

I don’t know about that, but I do know when my NewDay Amazon Platinum card was closing and they invited me to transfer over to their Pulse card with the same terms and limit, I asked if I could have my limit merged onto my new Partnership card with them instead and they said “No we don’t and can’t do that.”RhondaD said:

Why don’t you give them a call and find out?1 -
Thank you. I'll do that. The switch user could be additional card holders but I will look into it. I just tried switch user in the app and they are indeed linked. Thank you.1
