Yes it is a combi boiler with no hot water cylinder.
I've just been up into the loft to take a look. All pipes are lagged but the boiler is in the garage and I haven't put loft insulation above the garage (everywhere else is insulated) so all the pipes will be cold - my guess is that the pipe which serves hot water to the kitchen sink is frozen.

I would further guess that the radiator which stopped working might be on separate pipework from the rest? But it was working this morning so couldn't have suddenly frozen, no?

Any chance of the front view? I think the round nut can be unscrewed and the top part removed, exposing a spring-loaded pin controlling the flow. This pin has to move up and down freely.
There is an L shaped sofa in front of this radiator and I cannot move it by myself so no chance of a front view picture at this time. I can reach down to that valve and turn it but can't access it properly at the moment.

UPDATE: Just found the hot water tap in the kitchen isn't working...something to do with this? No water is coming out of it.

There’s obviously a problem but hot water and heating are separate.
    ...sharing the common boiler.
Is it a combi boiler, without a HW cylinder?

The other roads and taps are hot so it's fair to say that's working.

Or are you saying hot hot water from the tap comes from that rad?

Sorry to disagree, that valve is too small to be a TRV so there is no pin to be found. The control does not control the temperature, only the flow.

Correct. It’s just a wheel head on a lock shield valve.

    No, not really.

  • This probably doesn't help, but I've taken a photo that shows both valves; the closest one is the left-hand side so now you have a clear view of which is which.

Do you have hot water from other taps?  Can you trace the route of the pipe to the hot tap which isn't working?

    Hi OP
I'm surprised no one else has said this as I'm no pluber but a good guess  this is called the 'by pass radiator' ie at least one rad that does not have a TVR fitted to it so that rad without the tvr allows water to pass around safely when the boiler is turned on CH.

    Re your taps, don't know

did you note the water in tap not coming out before you started to adjust knobs on rad in pic?

    Thanks
