Day and night readings mixed.

I moved into my home around 2 years ago,  and I have noticed that my day and night readings are the wrong way around,  but on my bills, it still seems correct,  my last bill I paid around £110 for daytime enerygy and I was charged the higher kw, and my night was around £9 and charged at the night time rate so these must be correct usage as I have no heating on still (I have a log burner) my question is, am i still going to be hit with a huge bill? the billing seems correct,  im very confused, I have spoken to my supplier, and I have to do a test to find out which is rate 1 and 2 so while im waiting, I just wanted to see if anyone had anthing simular.

Have you got a smart meter?
  • Are these readings called 1 & 2?

If so, there is no right and wrong way around - there is only making sure the right price goes to the right number, which it seems it is.
  • I have had this problem with EON and Octopus. Even with smart meter they have managed to F@@k it up.

  • We too have had rate transpositions by the supplier in the past - but as said, don’t necessarily presume up that rate 1 is day and rate 2 is night. Our meters have always been set up the other way round - the current one is, and its predecessor before it too. If you are being billed correctly then it’s just something to keep an eye on. One warning though - if you ever have to send meter readings through a suppliers app, and it offers a “scan meter” option, it might be best to avoid using that as effectively it photographs the readings, and this can in some cases lead to confusion at the suppliers end as the computer assumes that 1= day and 2 = night for some reason.
