Um... maybe try the follow up "Myth II: Soulblighter"?0

So nobody has any experience of ISA deals between December and March, nobody has any experience of traditional dips in January? Amazing.
I've done half now and will do the other half in March.0 -
If anyone had any system based on markets being reliably predictable then they'd be (a) extremely wealthy and (b) reluctant to share that insight!solidpro said:So nobody has any experience of ISA deals between December and March, nobody has any experience of traditional dips in January? Amazing.4 -

Until you mentioned a ' traditional January dip' I had never heard of it.
Just checked the S&P 500 and in the four previous January's to 2022, it went up in all four.

In your situation I would invest the whole lot now, and would also give some consideration to more accurately weighted global funds, like Vanguard's FTSE Global All Cap Index.Think first of your goal, then make it happen!0

December is often the busiest time of year for stocks as investors begin moving their money in anticipation of a better year ahead.
Analysis by investment platform Bestinvest showed there was a 75% chance share prices of global companies would rise in December, as measured over a 50-year period.

It looks like Bestinvest push out articles in support of the Santa rally theory at this time of year (unsurprisingly), although that doesn't in itself support an expectation of dips in January:phillw said:https://www.thetimes.co.uk/money-mentor/article/time-buy-stocks/
