@Gers I'm still here, reading along! Lovely to picture you in the Glasgow hotel; I still remember turning up and being surprised at the entrance
I'm thinking about driving over to a nearby M&S today as there are things I'd like to get. The main roads are fine but our small close isn't so will have to negotiate that bit carefully. I do wish this freezing snap would end.
We have BT coming this afternoon to fit us a new router so I hope that goes smoothly. We actually had some post today, the first for about a week, and we seem to have been sent said router, which is a promising start.
Otherwise I'll be hunkering down and cooking a Thai prawn curry tonight.
Look after yourselves.11 -

DP1 How awful for Dd and little one hope everything is sorted soon and your heating
Getting ready to go and collect my new glasses hoping less problems today as the car door lock had frozen yesterday and it took 20 mins to release it so I was late to the hairdressers

Only really have fresh veg to get next week so will pop out Wednesday to do that
Crochet coming along nicely and keeping me warm in the process might see if CS have any wool.oddments when I'm in town
Take care all
Hugs to those who want them

Morning..again...took OH to work because of the cold, got back, had breakfast. Have to wait for someone to pick something up I put on freecycle and then up the hospital for an xray on my ankle which could be a number of things so we've started the ruling out stage. I've had all my clothes on today as well as my thick dressing gown and I was still a bit chilly. The back door is sticking in the cold, might have liberally apply some wd40 and see if that helps. Not sure about the rest of the day day, I made mince pies yesterday so there's them to parcel out and we're going out tonight to watch some comedians in Bath.dp1, what a horrendous sequence of events, hopefully they'll be in soon, the little one wil forget eventually though..Hope you and all your family heating woes are sorted soon. it's so bitter, can't be doing without it. Gers, your day sounded like fun ...TA, I wear fitflops almost exclusively and one thing I did find that I didn't realise when buying, the soles are so thick that they keep your feet much warmer in cold weather than normal shoes or boots. They do sell secondhand ones on ebay. Bella, OHs mum has the same problem with her husband. Mabe shock tactics are in order...Nanny, hope the carol singing was uplifting
Izzy, your house sounds like my house only the cats are snoozing not the dog and the beef stew has mustard dumplings which I must say, are almost as good as my rosemary and thyme ones [ don't go easy on the wholegrain mustard though, a very big dollop is better] Does your wood smell like bread though?
Ruby, enjoy the day off! Take care all, put extra layers on, including food ones...

Morning all, I had a great time last night at the carol concert, the choir was amazing and happily sang umpteen songs, there seemed no stopping them ! The community church people were very welcoming and we all joined in their carols, I had to pretend I was on "I can see your voice" as I didn't want to force people to listen to Foghorn Lil, although the man behind me would have given me a run for my money 🤣 There were free refreshments for all and every child, both choir and in the audience had a selection box when Santa popped in.
We braved the ice and cold this morning and did a shopping run to Morries, now I only need odds and ends, fresh veg and cream next week. Not many people in the sm although the car park showed the opposite, I think some of the people must have gone across the foot bridge and into town. Now I'm having a quick coffee before putting the shopping away and then I need to tidy up the kitchen.
Nelski Happy Birthday my BFF 🎂🎈 I hope you have a fantastic day !
Wicked Lady nice to see you.
Scarlet I haven't even done the marzipan, let alone ice my cakes. I'll make a start tomorrow.
Gers glad you enjoyed the panto and they accommodated the late comers.
Bella I hope your DH listens to the diabetes instructions, it's quite a serious ailment and can end in gangrene/amputation of toes.
taff I'm going to be singing the la la bit all day now 😂
Izzy enjoy the gymnastics display tomorrow.
Random my SiL and DGS are exactly the same and in shorts nearly all year when at home.
Take care all, stay safe and warm, it's baltic outside.🥶

Morning all from a frosty Kent. Happy birthday Nelski and your poor little one DP1. Hope all is resolved very soon for them.

It's just as well I'm not going home today as the roads have been chaotic with a huge amount of snow, stuck wagons, broken down caravans and road closures. The Rest and Be Thankful impassable and the Old Military Road closed too. It's raining now but I've decided to not go out tonight, I'm worried about ice forming as the day progresses. There'll be another day.Overnight one of ankles started to weirdly hurt so I decided to ask a pharmacist. She organised a video appointment, this turned into a very pleasant chat with a lovely consultant, I had to explain to him the difference between Tarbert and Tarbet! No real outcome for the ankle, I couldn't get my iPad in the right position for him to see it, but paracetamol taken.I've also cancelled my lunch date tomorrow as I want to drive home in daylight, if I stayed for lunch it'd be after 4pm. It's not worth it. For now I'm lounging in my hotel room.7
