Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark foggy chilly start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner was egg, bacon, chips and beans.
All the normal stuff to do today.
Keep safe and well x

Happy Birthday Nelski, hope you have a great day ,you share your birthday with one of my grandsons Ben, he teaches in North London, and although he breaks up today from school, he cannot get home because of the rail strikes. Hopefully he will be able to by Sunday.
I hope you have a good day and raise a glass or two of vino mate

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC.I must apologise for putting the wrong date on yesterday's post - I didn't realise till I popped on last night to catch up and saw the date! I've obviously touched the "2" and hadn't realised! Sorry if I gave people a fright, thinking they'd lost a few days!Freezing as usual, though it has to warm up, we're told.I managed to get that money paid in yesterday, so that was another job jobbed.Nothing much planned for today, though I did think I would make some mince pies, and I haven't iced the Christmas cake yet, though some years we just eat it plain with no icing. My mother used to make her own marzipan though you probably couldn't buy it ready made then, when I was young. It's a long time ago.Happy birthday Nelski, hope you enjoy your day.Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thoughts to our poorly people.Take care folks, stay warm and safe.13

Morning folks.Yesterday was a lovely day. Panto at 12 noon was very funny and rude. It's always a joy because it only lasts one hour. Four friends who were driving down from home got stuck in a huge traffic jam in Dumbarton because of a maybe land slip, they missed the noon performance. The great staff at the venue squeezed them into the 2pm performance 😀 so the rest of us waited, drank wine and chatted. The Indian street food restaurant was also good, fabulous tasting but the place was freezing cold. Only one set of doors to the outside, crowds coming and going and the odd group standing chatting with the door open. 🥶 I got up to close the door at least once. Even some staff were wearing jackets! After feeding our faces we wandered to one lovely pub for a heat up. I was back in my hotel room by 7pm. Last year I stayed out to gone 10pm, too cold and too sore this year.Snow has arrived in Glasgow, I don't know how much as I can only see the tops of buildings. Rain may clear it yet.DP1 - what a truly terrible situation for your DD and little one, it must have been terrifying for them. And how good that the landlords are sorting it quickly. I hope that your place is fixed just as swiftly and you can all keep warm again. 🥰
Nelski - 🎂🎉 have a lovely day.Snoozer- the time travellers wife. 😅
Anyone seen Wicked Lady recently? I always think of her when at this hotel.Keep warm and safe everyone. Happy Friday to all.13 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Roll on Sunday when they say it is to get a bit warmer, I am fed up of the Arctic temps now!
Happy Birthday to NELS. I hope you have a lovely goody filled day.
DP1 what a traumatic day for your whole family with broken down boilers and leaking frozen pipes. I hope things are picking up a bit now for you all.
A cleaning day for me, such fun. And as I took myself off on the bus to the next but one little town up the valley yesterday I have the whole shebang to do today (if I cba!) It was a worthwhile trip though as I came back with quite a few Xmas food bits (and cold feet too waiting for the bus which was running late!!)
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up or slowly recovering. Take care one and all, keep warm if you can. xx

Morning all and thanks for the thread nmlc x
Didn't get on yesterday as schlepped it into the London office, took two hours due to train issues, but I made it in! Staff Christmas festive fun in the afternoon including a quiz and awards ceremony (very tongue in cheek). WFH today. DH is in Solihull and due back later, DD has gone to Leeds to visit a school friend and is back tomorrow, so just DS2 his GF and I here today.
So sorry to hear of the issues with DD and DGD's house @dp1 - I hope things get sorted for them really quickly.
Your time in Glasgow sounds great @Gers
Happy Birthday @Nelski - hope you have a super day xx
I agree @mehefin just tragic about those little boys
Dinner tonight is SC chilli con carne with rice. I have 14 rows left to do on the crochet blanket plus 4 borders. Tick tock....
Have a good day everyone,

Morning all, be back after, bit sludgy this morning, but happy birthday Nels!! Hope you are toasting yourself for taking another trip around the sun。❅*⋆⍋*∞*。*∞*⍋⋆*❅。
A spaceman came traveling on his ship from afar
'Twas light years of time since his mission did start
And over a village, he halted his craft
And it hung in the sky like a star, just like a star
He followed a light and came down to a shed
Where a mother and child were lying there on a bed
A bright light of silver shone round his head
And he had the face of an angel and they were afraid
Then the stranger spoke, he said, do not fear
I come from a planet a long way from here
And I bring a message for mankind to hear
And suddenly the sweetest music filled the air
And it went la la la la la la la la la
La la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la la
Peace and goodwill to all men and love for the child
La la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la la, oh

Morning all
Cold and very frosty here ive just been out in my jamas to defrost the birds water and give them some food, my goodness its Freezing !!
Day off for me today so slept till 8 which was lovely, going to get some breakfast after this then have a tidy through.
Im seeing my nail lady today to have my varnish removed as you cant have it on for an operation, as I cant drive for a while afterwards (8 weeks ) my nails will be naked for a while ! I am then going to have electrolysis on my chin there are only about four thin hairs left so they should be gone soon, the lady who does it is great and she goes over my face checking for any stray hairs or blemishes she has got rid of a few thread veins as well so well worth the money.
Not sure about dinner tonight I will go and look in the freezer after this, dw has been emptied and I have put a wash on.
Got a lot of the xmas food yesterday just some fresh bits needed nearer the time which OH or DD can go and get.
DP1 how scary for your dd and little one I hope its soon sorted for them xxxx
To my dear friend Nels - Happiest of Birthdays to you my lovely, hope your day is filled with nice things, lots of love xxxx
Have good days all and take care out there xx10 -
Morning All
I am just off to work this morning. The rest of the day will be spent writing a budget. I need to pick up a notebook from Tesco that i can write all of my budget stuff in, and track my debt payoff.
You can tell it's cold here, as my 18-year-old is actually wearing more than just boxers and a t-shirt. The heating will be staying off for now though.
My older son is making dinner tonight, pasta or something I think. He is getting pretty good at cooking, his carbonara is better than mine!
