Hello, another freezing white morning.Welcome RandomOne, glad to meet you.I said yesterday that we were going to a shopping centre a few miles away to pay in some money to a designated bank - well, we went and discovered that it's closed on Wednesdays!I could go back today, or there's a branch of this bank in Durham, I'll see.Yesterday was an ok day, today I'll try and get rid of this blessed money, and there are other jobs to do as ever.Hope everyone has a s good a day as they can, thinking of our poorly people - Mehefin, I'm looking at you!, and Poppy, glad that Nanny and Mr Fixit seem to be recovering. Thoughts also to Dp1's dgd, and Nelski.Thank you Taff for the Christmas songs every day, I've been meaning to say that for a few days.Take care folks, keep warm.14

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet, strange times when the bank doesn't want your money!
Glad you're both feeling better Nanny, you'll be ready for that Christmas dinner.
Hope your DD and the little one are at home dp1.
Pleased to hear your drive down was safe and uneventful Gers, I can't get the window squishers to defrost either, makes for interesting driving!
Enjoying your Christmas songs taff, thank you.
Still cold and frosty here, coal delivery today so should be toasty and warm when I get in from having a haircut tonight. Must remember to open the side gate for the coal man, he leaves it open and if there's any wind it blows the gate which bangs and bashes about.
We've had all the new blinds fitted at school and they look really good, so glad as I had recommended the company to do them. We've asked for a couple more rooms to be done so they will be back in the new year.
Carried on with the cleaning yesterday - half the living room done. Can't decide if I want to move the furniture about so will think about it today.
Thinking of the poorlies, especially Poppy. Glad you're on the mend Mehefin.
Take care. XX11 -
Not sure of that date! 🙃Morning folks. Thanks for starting us off Scarlet. It's very cold still though my hotel room is very toasty, in fact too toasty. I woke in the middle of the night feeling hot, the heater doesn't have a thermostat. My dental appointment was smooth and quick. There was an neighbour from DM's place in the waiting room so enjoyed a nice chat with him. Afterwards I drove a supermarket for some breakfast and bumped into another person from the close, it's certainly a small world. Then I went to my favourite cinema to watch Matilda. I'd seen the stage play in London many years ago so was keen to see the new version. What a joy it was. Such a riot of colour, great production and the huge number of children were magnificent. For being a PG film I had a really lovely time. Mind you, the very excited four year girl on her birthday outing was enjoying it 10 times more. 😂 It was her first visit to a cinema and was so bouncy. 😀Today I'm meeting up with friends (from home) for an adult panto at a restaurant/ pub venue in the west end. It only lasts for an hour and is part of the regular 'pie, pint and play' series though usually on the rude side. We're going for an Indian meal afterwards. It could be a long evening if the cold isn't too intense.I hope that everyone is warm, keep safe. Happy Thursday to all.11

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET but are you wishing the days away! This gets boring but brrr another cold one. -5 but set to reach the dizzy heights of 2 deg when the promised sun comes out! When the sun is low in the sky it never touches the front so the frozen snow is still lying there.
Undecided what to do today - stay in and clean or venture out. There are a couple of things I could do with getting and it would save going out at the w/e. I was going to say before the shops get busy but I think those days are long gone unfortunately. We used to have a few late night shopping evenings running up to Christmas but with our lack of shops here they haven't bothered this year.
Yesterday I managed to get the surplus carrot stocks down and today I think it's the turn of the mushrooms before they go over. I love mushrooms but for some reason I haven't been eating them quickly enough.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies. Take care and keep warm xx

Morning! OMG, nuclear BRR! Been up for an hour or so, no mean feat when you went to bed at two, to shower and stuff to go and see the physiotherapist. No doctor available, would I like one with them?> Hang on while I bite your arm off Mrs Receptionist Lady....Hopefully something will come of this. Wood delivery was really late yesterday so I ened up only doing one thing on my list, go shopping, but the wood is stacked and smelling like fresh bread, weirdly...Today, I'll take up the slack from my original list..Scarlet, i think you gave/will give every parent a heart attack when they see the thread title, they're going to think they've time travelled
Shame about the bank, how annoying! But if you really want to get rid of it...hello! ::waves:: Gers, sounds like a good time was and will be had! TA, have a good day whatever you decide. Mehefin, I love a carol, go!! burst!
Nels, good to hear it's been done, now fingers crossed for them to come next week too. Izzym, glad you had a good night and not long now till you're off...Take care all, fuh fuh fuh cold, so do a michelin man with food or blankets or both...shout out to the poorlies...

Said the night wind to the little lamb,
do you see what I see
Way up in the sky, little lamb,
do you see what I see
A star, a star, dancing in the night
With a tail as big as a kite
With a tail as big as a kite
Said the king to the people everywhere,
listen to what I say
Pray for peace, people everywhere!
listen to what I say
The Child, the Child, sleeping in the night
He will bring us goodness and light
He will bring us goodness and light

Off to collect my private client today but not going to work as I have a blood test ahead of my op next week, so I will take him to that and then do a bit of shopping and get him some lunch out, we would normally go for a walk but its far too cold for him.
Going to have breakfast for dinner tonight as I have a few bits that need using up so thats nice and easy.
DW has been emptied and I will have a quick tidy round before I go.
Have good days all and take care out there xxx

Morning all from cold and sunny mehefinland
My mantra is: the outside water tanks are freezing - its cold
the outside water tanks are frozen completely - is blooming cold
the buckets in the stable froze overnight - thats @%"$ cold ( insert suitable expletive to your taste)
Did the nags this morning and scenario 3 was in place. Had to gently blow on a bottle of water to defreeze the seal enough so I could add some to their morning feed. Think tomorrow I'll take a flask from the house as this morning was quite a surprise. Then after chucking them out to roam and nibble spent quite some time breaking ice so they could access water. If it warms up later will give it another go.
Last AB tonight!! Yay
More joys in store for me - had a call to go see Haemotology consultant on Monday. Must be before Xmas, which is slightly worrying Will update in due course
Had I mentioned DS got engaged to the TT in November? They are honouring us with their presence on the 27th.. cant wait
Heart goes out to the families of the 4 children in the Midlands who went through the ice. What a horrible thing to happen.
Hugs and spoons as always
Mehefin
