I have seen evaporated coconut milk, maybe it was that.
We don't have a Caribbean isle in my local but we do have a large Polish community so get a section of an isle dedicated to Polish sausage.

Saw some evap milk in what seemed to be the Caribbean section of Asda yesterday, weird make.

It's made in Harwich, what's weird about that?

  • My mother will be upset by this. Her mother in law made her custard with evaporated milk, and it was such a hit with my mother and her parents, that soon, my entire family was making custard with evaporated milk, even those in France. It freezes in lolly moulds really well, too.

None in Aldi or Lidl today, not seen any in Lidl since November.
Sainsburys is the most reliable but it comes and goes so when its in stock i buy 6 or more cans and my stockpile is up to 30 tins now.
Lidl seem to have replaced the location with even more condensed milk and have a quite inappropriate amount.

My mother used custard powder. Husband makes from scratch.
