in Credit cards
Purchased sofa £4096. Extra insurance purchased £250. All on credit card. Dispute with sofology over state of sofa. They have agreed to provide credit note for £4096. My question is this.
If I use the credit note and get a replacement. Will that purchase still be covered under section 75 because of the £250 spent on the original purchase and the insurance which would be transferred to the new sofa. Thanks

The insurance would still be covered.
By virtue of having voucher you'd be entering into a new contract of sale and so I'd argue the new sofa wouldnt be unless it was more than the £4,096 and so you pay the difference on credit card.1 -
I think you would find they may reject it on the basis that any T/C related to the original purchase which resulted in the credit note being provided. So bank would argue that any involvement they might have had, ended at that point.
Same with insurance, even though sofology have transferred this to the new sofa.Life in the slow lane1
