just a new one for me
selling item and buyer wants it posting where i usually want it collected, said the only way im going to post it via bank transfer
then i got this reply
"Ok, I will be paying via bank transfer but will need to have a picture of the postage receipt prior to that. Being stung with this postage of a thing before that's why mate. So will make the payment once I confirm the postage receipt while you still at the post office. Hope that's okay?"
apart from his location, lives in Newcastle but he says currently in Lestershire this is the first red flag
im guessing, once you have paid for postage the post office would just want to put your item in the bag
and then hes not going to respond and hopes you just send it anyway?
just a strange new one that says SCAM to me

If it makes you uncomfortable then definitely walk away. You could try printing your label at home via RM click and drop and seeing if he pays up, otherwise cancel the label- but I tend not to bother once someone sets of my radar.
However, I wouldn’t expect a buyer to be using bank transfer anyway, I’d prefer to protect us both and use PayPal and a delivery method with proof of delivery.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Ive sold various items with a bank transfer, but mine has always been before posting. Bear in mind some of these items were around £1000 (competition RC equipment). Some buyers are just happy to proceed without issue! With a high value item though, I insist on at least a phone call, so that any questions are cleared and we can just have a general chat to put both minds at ease.
In your case I would follow Soolin's advice. Print a label off at home, provide the tracking info as well as an image of the label maybe, and see if he then pays, after which you can drop off the parcel etc. If it feels too much like a risk to you, then it's better to just request PayPal, or not proceed at all.....1
