Houses with a cellar won't normally have deep foundations, as the walls are already quite deep below the ground to start with.
It's quite common in the USA to build a cellar, as when they need to go down about 5ft to get below the frost line, they might as well take out a few more ft to extra space.3 -
Just an update.
I've had a survey done and he seems to think that it is ground heave.
I'm waiting for the report, but cursory conversations seem to suggest.that I need better drainage around the property.
So my next question is - will this resolve the issue? Or should I still just go down the insurance route?0 -

Out of interest, is this in your home or in your property with tenants?

Yes surveyor was booked after my first post here. I like to get things done, so equally as a landlord if there is an issue raised it is normally done within 48 hrs.0
