Council Tax bands deleted in Barry, Wales
In researching houses for sale, I looked up the Council Tax band for 2 properties, both of which happen to be in the same area. Of 4 pages on the gov.uk site, 2 pages have all the houses with a 'deleted' tax band. What does this mean? Are they being put up a band? Or less likely are they going down a band? Or is it something else?

Isn't Barry a popular area for holidays ? Where I am (in England) there are a number of such deleted entries on our street and they are all houses and flats used as holiday lets and therefore registered for business rates rather than council tax.I don't know if the same criteria applies in Wales, but I seem to recall there was news about second home owners in Wales facing steep increases in council tax, so possibly many have decided to operate them as holiday lets instead.1

Hi p00hsticks. Sorry for long delay in replying, I'm new to the site and it's taken me a while to work things out. This particular area fo Barrt is definitely residential: I looked at another house for sale and met some of the neighbours, who all live there. So I don't think it's a holiday let. You are right though that 2nd homes can be taxed at a higher rate. So I'm still confused.0
