Add Chase card to Google Pay again error

I was having an issue where Google Pay was not appearing as a payment option in all apps that supported it as a payment method. I removed my Chase card and while I was attempting to add it again at the "Contacting your bank" phase I got an error message saying the card already appeared to be added. Anyone seen this before? Chase didn't seem able to help, I've got an open support ticket with Google higher level support, but they've not replied yet.

Have you tried uninstalling and re-installing Google Wallet to see if that rectifies the error?1

Had to delete cards and app.
Then start again.

Is the Chase still listed in Payment methods (this is different but related to the Contactless cards listed in Google Wallet)?
In the past, for some cards, I have had to add cards to both, to allow it to be shown as an option for in-app payment.
To get to Payment methods:
https://pay.google.com
(Or in Google Wallet, click on your icon (top right)
Wallet settings - Payment Profile <opens in browser>)
Menu/three bars (top left).

Payment methodsIt's under Payment methods in the "account" section of the app (after you click your icon), but not in the Payments section in the three bars/burger menu. It's also not synced when I log in to my Google account on a desktop. Clicking on it in that section gives a blank screen before it shortly returns to the previous screen (so no option to remove from that section).Looking elsewhere it seems some people have asked their bank to remove all virtual payment tokens from their account, but I've not approached Chase for that yet, still waiting on Google second line support to get back to me.0 -

Good luck.
And keep us updated.1 -
The "G Pay" button has reappeared for apps that support that payment method when I checked today. All of the other symptoms above still persist. Google have replied (5 days later - they said it would be 2 and are now "waiting for my reply"). They want me to clear cache and data, uninstall Google Wallet (I'd already discussed with first line support, my phone only offered the option to uninstall updates, not the entire app), reinstall it then sync my google account. There is a long list of steps following that for if the sync is unsuccessful.I'm reluctant to do any of this as on the face of it, it's "working" now, albeit I can't remove the payment method if I wanted to (but it's better it's broken that way round).
