Morning
Hugs to those that want/need them, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Very dark foggy chilly start to the day.
DH and DS1 getting ready for work, I'm showered, dressed and enjoying my first cuppa and my porridge whilst on here. DS2 settled and happy.
Dinner last night was fish, jacket potato, cheese, beans, veg/rice. Remembered to get chicken out to defrost but it's partially still frozen this morning. Will have to see what we'll have later - chicken needs to be defrosted.
Work was ok - busy and tricky to start as the tech didn't work, and IT had to sort it which took a good part of the morning, it was working fine last week so not sure what happened there. Hoping for a smoother day today.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning, thanks for starting NMLC - hope you have a better day today. It's a very cold frosty start here, yesterday the ice melted a bit, but it was still bitterly cold.I went to my friend's yesterday morning. I've got some gripper soles that you put on your shoes, they help to stop you slipping, so I put them on, they're a great help in this weather. The rest of the day was just spent doing jobs round the house, there's always something. Dh went out to post the Christmas cards, usually my cards are posted by now but I'm late this year. This morning it's our Residents' Association meeting so I'll cautiously walk down to that, It's not far. It'll be my last stint as secretary. I've done it for years but "handed my notice in" back in October, someone else will be doing it as of next year.Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of our poorly people.Stay warm and safe folks.12

Morning All
Cold, frosty and a bit foggy this morning, I've had the heating on low all night, certainly has made a difference when getting up. Decided that the trauma of having a burst pipe would be worse than having to pay for having the heating on. It didn't get above -4 here all day yesterday, I had to de-ice the car before I left work!
Decided to start the big clean last night and did my bedroom, will probably do the children's room today - keeps me warm if nothing else!
Hope everyone is keeping well and staying warm and safe. Take care. XX12 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC for starting off. Brr another cold and frosty start.
I managed to throw handfuls of salt down the front steps yesterday morning and they began to look a bit clearer. Late morning the window cleaner came (is he mad in this weather!) and I asked for an update on the state of the steps! He assured me they were safe so I donned my boots and Nanook clothes and caught the bus down into town. As usual a different world down there with no snow or frost to be seen! I didn't need anything desperately just the need to get out! I had a look at jumpers in our dire remaining clothes shops but nothing appealed and all I came back with was my usual hair colour.
All being well I am meeting BFF for our Tuesday coffee and lunch date. Assuming it's safe for us to get out! I hope they have the fire well stoked up!
Have a good day folks if you can and take care in the snow and ice. ((HUGS)) for our poorlies and poorly loved ones. DP1 your little DGD especially. xx

Morning all
Cold and frosty here it did not get above freeing all day yesterday looks like today will be the same.
Three clients coming today and we are off to a panto as a christmas treat, we are going to see beauty and the beast at a local theatre, they are all very much looking forward to it as am Iwe will have lunch before we go and they have requested the golden arches so thats where we will go !
Dinner tonight will be gnocchi in a tomato sauce with salad and garlic bread, nice and quick but tasty.
The dw has been emptied this morning and I will have a quick tidy round and hoover.
DP1 I hope little one is improving what a worry for you all xx
Have good days all and take care if you need to go out xx11 -
Morning all and thanks for the start nmlc x I hope your IT issues get resolved.
Still bitterly cold here. I went to post a parcel after work and popped into Ts for mayo - ended up spending £19 as bought a HP beef joint plus some chocs as a gift for Christmas, plus fruit. I have ordered a new pair of boots as my ones with chunky soles went to boot heaven last month. My other boots have Vibrum soles but not a lot of grip - it was a bit dicey going down my hill to the shops!
WFH the remainder of this week as there are no trains for most of it. Suits me as I can get more done here. DH took DS2 back to uni yesterday, cleared his room/fridge and bought him back. He was due to finish on Friday anyway but as DH is in Birmingham Thursday and Friday with our car, I would have had to drive down in DS2s little pop pop. Just makes sense to have him home as it's only a few days and he can study from here.
Hope our poorlies are feeling brighter @nannywindow and @Nelski and @dp1s DGD x
Go steady @TravellingAbuela and @RedRuby1231 when you go out.
What Attic24 blanket kit did you get @-taff? I'm currently doing the Harbour one for DS2 for Christmas - only another 40 rows to go plus 4 x border - will give myself an arthritic thumb at this rate....
Have a good day everyone and stay safe and warm x

Morning all from a very bitterly cold west coast. It's -5° outside which gives me no inclination to get out of bed. I was up at 6'ish for a wee while then managed to get back to sleep which gave me a very interesting, interesting though strange dream.Today I have my new consecutive blood pressure and audiology appointments and my cleaner is coming. I'll light the woodburner before she comes though I'll be out when she arrives. I'll have to do a quick five minute putting away of stuff session. Afterwards I've got two episodes of Strike to catch up on to keep me idle. There's so many people with some kind of lurgy or other, even my very robust Berlin cousin has succumbed to the 'flu virus. I hope that those who are poorly are on the mend and able to keep warm and cosy.Happy Tuesday to all.11

Morning everyone
Still freezing here - my phone says it feel like -11 outside! I don't need to go out for the bus to work till 11 so hopefully it might be a bit better by then.
Thanks again for all the good wishes for DD and little one - she had eaten a tiny bit yesterday and is on her milk feed to keep her blood sugars up - DD is hoping they might get home today.
Redruby - hope you all enjoy the panto - I'm stewarding again at our local one tomorrow morning for a schools performance.

Izzy - enjoy your meal too
The gritter has just come onto our little estate - I hope they put some on the paths too as they were terrible yesterday.

Morning! Cold! No surprise there! The little girl helpfully threw up as I came downstairs, so I've been cleaning that and reassuring her I'm not angry...Gave OH a lift and back to work yesterday, everything is still icy so it was safer to be honest. On the way back I bought some ox cheeks and shin from Morrisons for the princely sum of four pounds because I'd seen the vodafone voucher for eight pounds. Then I stopped at the sell-it-all shop and bought some glue sticks, then BM for cat food and treats. I've been looking for a magazine rack, of course, the ones I really like are super expensive so I bought a mesh bucket for six and put them in there. And I have decided to glue the webbing to the carpet, hence extra glue sticks, much easier...That's todays after job. OH was lates obviously yesterday so I enjoyed a lovely supper of faggots and chips and gravy courtesy of the freezer. Same again tonight, maybe with some cabbage though.@Coxy, it's the Summer Ripple one. I was drunk when I opened the present and was terrfied because it's way past my comfort level, still terrfied sober...That Harbour one is lovely isn't it? Love the colours and the sea wave pattern. Thanks for the T tip! Scarlet, enjoy your life of leisure now your time is not being demanded
Walk safe! I have some yak tracks but they'e only good for snow really. What are your type? camelot, happy cleaning and that's excatly why I put the heater in the downstairs toilet on, the outside pipe is on that wall...TA, enjoy your social outing! Ruby, your job sounds great, long [or short if you like] may it continue..Izzy, same for chips...enjoy the meal, break a leg at fc...Gers, hope your appointmenets go well and -5? I'd stay in bed for the rest of the week! Bella, OHs mum gets that sometimes, she has a lot of eye infections..dp1, good to hear she's eating more. Nels, hope your roads are clearer..and you're warmer..snoozer, is he working his way up to assassin? I did laugh at that. Nanny, hope the shouting/interpreting went well. You and Nels watched one of my favourites as well, I love both versions though for different reasons... Right , sorry, no more waffling, enjoy today, be safe, be warm, be thinking of you mia's..

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Everywhere you go;
Take a look at the five and ten
It's glistening once again
With candy canes and silver lanes aglow
It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas
Toys in every store
But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be
On your own front door
