Economy 7 Price Cap
Comments
-
I am with bulb energy, E7 user.
I have received an email from bulb today informing me of increases to both my day and night units.
CURRENT RATES
Day 35.483
Night 23.224
RATES FROM JANUARY 1st
Day 38.129
Night 24.955
(rates for north Nottinghamshire)
Thats over 7% increase on day units and over 5% on night units!
see this link to offer announcement posted November 24. https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications/latest-energy-price-cap-announced-ofgemIn approximately paragraph 14 it looks like the economy 7 price cap is being raised to £2,998. The same paragraph seems to indicate economy 7 customers are currently being charged less than the £2,500 average. If this info is correct does anyone know why economy 7 tariff price cap was below the £2,500 average but will be almost £3,000 from January 1st. Feels like we’re being screwed0 -
Why not switch to a supplier offering a lower night rate?vaughan060 said:I am with bulb energy, E7 user.

Would you like to pay the non-EPG rates then, if the government help is "being screwed"?vaughan060 said:Feels like we’re being screwed
In your area, an example of that is 89.29p day rate and 33.92p night rate.
The caps have always been different, and you've completely misunderstood that paragraph. You do know that it's talking about the OFGEM price cap, not the EPG government cap?vaughan060 said:If this info is correct does anyone know why economy 7 tariff price cap was below the £2,500 average but will be almost £3,000 from January 1st.
Your "nearly £3000" needs to be compared with the £4279 for dual fuel customers. Still have the same argument?0 -
Makes you wonder why the Energy companies can't give the same deal to E7 users as they offer to EV owners and provide at least 5 of those 7 off peak hours at around 12p per KWH."Dont expect anybody else to support you, maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you have a wealthy spouse, but you never know when each one, might run out" - Mary Schmich1

So you want the even cheaper 4 or 5 hours of an EV tariff, and also the remaining off-peak time of the E7 tariff?
I bet you think your day rate should be capped at the single-rate price too.0 -
Should be for not using gas[Deleted User] said:chris1973 said:Makes you wonder why the Energy companies can't give the same deal to E7 users as they offer to EV owners and provide at least 5 of those 7 off peak hours at around 12p per KWH.

Now that makes completely no sense.Swipe said:

Doesn't the eco mob want everyone off gas?[Deleted User] said:

If you have a better understanding of the situation could you please then explain, why my rates will increase on January 1st when the government cap lasts until March[Deleted User] said:
