Terrified of pipes freezing

Comments

  • Thanks all I didn't realise that the hot water from taps didn't warm the pipes so I've learnt something.

I think I will have to get room thermometers but in the meantime I'm hoping having the gas central heating on for 45 mins first thing will be enough to keep things flowing.
  • The temperature nearly always drops at dawn so put the heating to come on around that time.

My water pipes froze a few years ago, I am considering leaving the heating on, not something I ever did.
My mains pipe coming into the house froze, just near the water meter, it was an inconvenience for a few days.
