Sellers have been given a completion date but we haven’t?

Surveys and mining reports got done a while ago, it’s just mainly yes or no questions and basic enquiries. I’m not sure what’s taking the sellers solicitor so long to respond to the enquiries. They were sent on 21/11user1977 said:
Yes, I know what enquiries are, I'm wondering whether the OP knows what specifically is outstanding.MikeJXE said:

If OP asked their solicitor and found out specifically what was outstanding then
* OP, and we, might have a better idea how long answers might take and/or
* OP might decide the outstanding Qs are unimportant and instuct solicitor to ignore them and/or
* OP would be in a better position to discuss with their seller and/or EA, and hence everyone would have a better understanding of the realistic Completion date
Without that knowledge we, and the OP, can only guess at whether the 16th is feasible.....0 -
It's Sunday so tomorrow first thing the op should be on the phone and get wised up what is happening, why the wait, is it necessary.0

It sounds to me like several parties really want completions on the 16th and are trying very hard to make it happen on the 16th by telling everyone that it's going to happen on the 16th.jmre22 said:However I’ve been in good contact with the seller during the sale and his solicitor has told him the 16th and insists it will complete on 16th. His solicitor is dealing with the sale and the purchase of the house he is buying and has also told the solicitor of the house he is buying the 16th too.
Have you ever noticed that in the run up to elections politicians always say they are going to win and continue to say this often until they've lost and then some? You are seeing a similar process.
With a number of people really keen on the 16th, you should try and make that happen if you possibly can but if you can't, it won't happen. There is however, a slight risk that preventing it happening on the 16th will collapse the whole chain(My username is not related to my real name)1 -
Such as...? Some might be normal tickbox things where there are unlikely to be further queries or problems flagged, but others could be more likely to raise more questions, or risks for you to consider.jmre22 said:

If you're in touch directly with the vendors, have you asked them?I’m not sure what’s taking the sellers solicitor so long to respond to the enquiries. They were sent on 21/111 -

Such as confirming there’s been no subsidence reports, there’s been nothing built on a water line which runs on the edge of the garden, amending our names on the contract, there’s around 10 enquiries but they are majority yes or no answers and confirmations. It should take them an hour to do but it’s been nearly a month now. I’ve been in touch with the seller regularly and he keeps asking his solicitor to complete the enquiries but just keep getting no where. She keeps reassuring him the completion date will be 16/12.user1977 said:

Therefore everything is on hold until they are answered.0 -
Most of these would be for the seller to answer. Your solicitor sends the enquiries to seller's solicitor, who does not know the answers, so passes them to seller to answer. Seller answer and returns to his solicitor (perhaps first phoning for advice/explanations...), and then they come back to your solicitor.jmre22 said:user1977 said:

Yes the seller has answered the enquiries associated with them. Just waiting for the sellers solicitors to send them over to my solicitors. Can I contact the sellers solicitors or is this not allowed? I need to give them a pushpropertyrental said:
