Mine is due for renewal. Just bought an activation code on eBay and cannot activate it. In the past it activated with no issues. Got message cannot add an activation code with auto renewal as a new code. I have contacted the seller and waiting for response, he is in USA. Does anybody know what I can? Will it help to reinstall? Or can anybody recommend a good free anti virus. I get free anti virus with bt bb but have never looked into it properly. Thanks

  • Why would you buy Kaspersky when you can get free Norton from BT?

Why would you buy an internet security product from a company with links to the Russian Secret Service?

Why buy AV/Internet Security at all when Windows/Android devices just don't need it (if they are kept up-to-date)?

    Just Why?

With Kaspersky, you add the code to your account, and nothing happens.
Then when the old subscription expires, the code activates.
I don't recall any error messages though.

I use Kaspersky, I paid well before The War. At the time, I thought getting an anti-virus from the place where most viruses were made was a good idea, although I suspect Russia has slipped down the production list lately.

I find it very good, for instance it has blocked 10 attempts to collect data on this page. It also plays merry tunes blocking downloads from what appear to be innocent web pages.

I know I could configure hosts.ini, and my various browsers to do this manually, but it is hard work compared to just installing Kaspersky.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Will windows security provide enough protection? Might just do that.

I was going to install and reinstall it but cannot find it my control panel to uninstall, very strange. I can access Kaspersky on the start button and when I try to uninstall it takes to install and uninstall options but the application is not there. Pl can anybody help, it’s doing my head in?  I bought two yrs subscription.  Thanks

    Hi,
click Start button, bottom left, if Control Panel doesn't show in box then type Control Panel into search box.
You were advised in your other THREAD to use Windows Defender, try it.
Also, try to stick to one thread for each topic you had 3 going for your mobile phone problem.
  • I used Kaspersky for a few years then got rid because of it's connection to the Russian state. I then went to Bitdeffender and found them to be very good..
