Used it? Worth its weight in gold? I have had it since 2018 paying £350 permanently until age 65 for £3000 per month after 6 month deferral.
Just wondered if people have used it, found it beneficial/easy to claim if needs be?

Got it but thankfully not needed it. Worth its weight in gold; absolutely! How else would I pay the mortgage, bills, for food, the car etc etc etc if I became ill and unable to work? It's an essential unless you have other means of supporting yourself as far as I'm concerned.0

Not L&G but yes, for the past decade I've been living on the money from my PHI. I got an untreatable illness in my forties that means I can't work at the moment, and probably never will again, but which doesn't affect my life expectancy. Having PHI has been the difference between continuing to live an independent life and save for a comfortable later life, and having to see my flat and live at single bedroom at my mum's. You may be able to survive without any income for a few months, or maybe a couple of years, or longer, but the nightmare scenario is never being able to work ever again.
I have found the claims process fine. Claim accepted with no drama. Sometimes they send me for medical examinations with an independent doctor, and they get my medical records to look at every year.
I thank my lucky stars for it everyday.1
