Problems with RMSD and proof of postage

Hey folks, I'm after a bit of advice from anyone in the know...
I posted a parcel to someone using the RMSD service. The postage was paid online, with a free collection arranged. Unfortunately, the parcel arrived with the recipient 2 days late, and with the contents missing! Therefore, I need to submit a claim, for both late delivery and damage.
The issue is that of proof of postage. Although the parcel was collected from me as arranged, it's still shwoing on the RM (collection) system as pending collection. I also didn't receive a confirmation email from RM that the parcel was collected. I do however have the collection on CCTV. The timestamp on the CCTV image matches the entry on the RM tracking website which says 'Item Received - Warminster DO'.
I'm currently in a queue to speak to RM by phone. It's been 36 mins so far, the recorded message did say that it would be >60 mins.
Has anyone else been in this position before, or does anyone have any (relevant) RM experience which might aid me?

There was another thread recently regarding collections not being tracked which may be worth looking at. It is good that RM show it at the DO so the collection confirmation email is not really relevant.I don't think that any compensation is due for late deliveries on SD at the moment, but obviously compensation is due if it is lost. I suspect it is in a pile of parcels and has not been correctly separated at the depot. I have a similar thing with an RM24 parcel that should also be prioritised but the tracking shows it sitting in the local depot like yours.0

Thanks @martindow - I will look for the other thread. In the meantime, Saturday's call went unanswered after 80 mins of queuing. I've called again this morning, and managed to speak to someone. She said the 'issue' with the collection confirmation isn't a problem, she could see that the parcel had been scanned in at my delivery office. I was asked to attach a screenshot of the collection reference instead of an actual proof of postage.Hope this helps anyone else who might search for the same info!2
