Brrrr morning and thanks for the start @Gers - I agree!
I'm off to FC this morning, then a waxing appointment, then will get my eyebrows threaded, finally a haircut - 3 different salons!! We are having roast chicken for dinner as I picked one up YS for £3.04! Have plenty of veg to go with it and looking forward to warming up the kitchen whilst the oven is on.
I have ironing to do plus some washing. DD is home after the football tonight. DS2 is also here this weekend as we are doing a charity 13k walk tomorrow. He doesn't finish uni until Friday. DH will be fixing something on DS2's car today and then taking it for an MOT retest. It needs to pass - DH will be driving our car to Birmingham on Thursday and coming back Friday night. I will need to take DS2s car to pick him up from uni on Friday. We are having to drive due to the train strike.
Have a good day everyone and stay warm and well.

Good morning all from under my duvet. It's so difficult to start the day when it's uninviting outside. The crisp white frost may look beautiful but I'd rather not experience it first hand just yet.My drive down the peninsula yesterday morning was glorious. I decided to go my normal route on the single track road which was totally clear of any ice. The low winter sun was a slight problem when it was bouncing light on the sea, it made me drive a bit slower, not that anything over 35mph can be done as it's so twisty. Had a lovely time at the hairdressers for my cut and colour. She only takes one client at a time so it's very peaceful. We chatted about cheeses, music, railway journeys, podcasts and so on, really a ramble through two hours.Today I'm going in the opposite direction, I've a couple of times to collect from Argos in Oban and will do a little light shopping when up there. For now I'm staying snuggled down a bit longer.Mehfin - well done on getting a proper examination and a result. I hope that the ABs kick in soon.Take care everyone. Happy no SCD Saturday.10

Morning All
Absolutely baltic here, thankfully the ice is on the outside of the windows!
I had a fabulous nights sleep, a solid 8 hours and feeling better for it, or I will once I warm up a bit. The heating is on and I've lit the fire already, that can keep the chill off for the rest of the day.
Off to meet friends for a late lunch today, really looking forward to it. Before that I need to go and collect some parcels from the sorting office, they are only open from 8 until 2 every day now so impossible for me to collect anything during the week.
Some housework was done yesterday but I dropped a present into next door for their new Granddaughter and ended up chatting to them for an hour.
Hope everyone stays warm and well, hoping you feel better today Mehefin.
Take care. XX9 -
Morning! Not much of a hangover today thankfully, although I did polish off a fair bit of mulled cider and a bottle of prosecco. My friend got me an Attic 24 throw to crochet, so I'm going to have to bite the bullet and learn properly instead of making stuff up as I go along. OH is still in bed, I'll take him his birthday coffee in a mintue when I am rehydrated a bit...Totally burgered my ankle after standing on it for two days so the stick is my friend again. I will make an appointment to find out what it is next week...Coxy, was an involved to and fro that is! Gers, happy potter shopping..Izzy, since Scarlet let slip [possibly] where you are, I googled it and isn't it beautiful there? I hope your doggies stiffness goes, and you find some human version of his tablets
camelot, enjoy your lunch out! Take care all especially any people who are not 100%.

O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
wie treu sind deine Blätter!
Du grünst nicht nur zur Sommerzeit,
Nein auch im Winter, wenn es schneit.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum,
wie treu sind deine Blätter!
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum!
Dein Kleid will mich was lehren:
Die Hoffnung und Beständigkeit
Gibt Trost und Kraft zu jeder Zeit.
O Tannenbaum, o Tannenbaum!
Das soll dein Kleid mich lehren.
O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
Thy leaves are so unchanging
O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
Thy leaves are so unchanging
Not only green when summer's here
But also when it's cold and drear
O Christmas tree, o Christmas tree
Thy leaves are so unchanging
O Christmas Tree, o Christmas Tree
Your boughs can teach a lesson
That constant faith and hope sublime
Lend strength and comfort through all time
O Christmas Tree, o Christmas Tree
Your boughs can teach a lesson

Mehefin hope the new antib's work
Carolbee how was the amdram?
Poppy sending you hugs x
Gers glad you enjoyed your drive
Sunny here but has been very cold and icy so heating has been on. I was wide awake between 5 and 7 this morning but went back to sleep for a while and now have James Martin on in the background.
Saw DGC earlier in the week which was lovely, their other grandad has come to stay with us for a few days and we all went out with DBIl and DSIL yesterday for lunch. He has finally sorted out his heating issue that has been going on since June. It transpires that after three new meters and 9 new cards he had been sent dummy card hence why the didn't work !!!
Have written all Christmas cards and wrapped nearly all the presents. It's DH birthday two days before and he somehow managed to get me buy him another gift last week. Its also DD's birthday 4 days after Christmas but she always prefers money for her gift.
I'm still busy crocheting my granny square blanket ( never managed to get to grips with normal crochet) but this is a great way to use old bits of wool and looks like Joseph technicolour dreamcoat.
Sorry if I haven't mentioned everyone hope all have a lovely weekend, feeling a bit more with it this week maybe as I have been out a bit more but know a lot is down to the weather and time of year.
Happy Saturday ( and for those who are watching the world cup enjoy the match I will disappear upstairs)

Hard frost here this morning and very cold ! I will go and defrost the birds water and feed them after this.
The log man is coming today so that will keep us going for a while, OH will get them in and stack them in the shed while I tidy through downstairs. I am going to get the tree later as well and get that up, the clients will love seeing it next week, I also decorate the dresser whith lots of quirky decorations, I think I might perfer that to the tree !
Dinner tonight will be prawn and salmon pasta, I got some prawns that were marinaded in herbs and garlic they smell delish !
Mehefin poor you, I hope the anti b kick in soon, plenty of rest and keep your fluids up xxxx
Have good days all and keep warm xxx9 -
Hello all, it's freezing here and my heating is on again this morning. After watching a lovely 1960's concert on Thursday (DGD was the newsreader and shuffled her papers a lot 😂) I got home then I went down with the D&V. Seems it's rife around here, even DD's kitchen fitter has it so her kitchen has been put on stop over the weekend. We've been surviving on bread and butter or toast and still can't face proper food, so we should have lost some weight.
I had a sm delivery yesterday but only the fresh and frozen was put away, the rest is still in bags, so that's my task for today. I may do some washing too as the heating is on.
Hope everyone has a good Saturday
Take care, stay safe and warm. Hugs to anyone in need.

Taff, thanks so much for the carol, especially the German version. I could ‘hear’ my beloved DM singing it to my father, brother and
me in days gone by. Now they are all gone too.I'm sitting in the cafe at Tesco, not eating it drinking only having a wee rest. Time to set off now.8 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Cold and snowy here and brr I've had enough of it already. Roll on Spring!!
Got up to a covering of snow this morning and I thought hey up this doesn't bode well for my Ocado delivery due 8 - 9 a.m. I was right! My delivery time was postponed until after 10.. The poor lad turned up about 10.10 with profuse apologies. He had got stuck in snow in one of the country lanes and thought he wasn't going to get any more deliveries done. But the cavalry arrived and got him moving again. My shopping is now all away a bit later than planned. No subs and nothing oos. Mostly fridge stuff, f & v and store cupboard supplies that were dwindling. The freezers remain rammed and come the New Year my intention is to get stocks down! (How many times have you heard that?!)
I am still planning on dragging the Xmas decs down after lunch but that could easily get postponed until tomorrow! I had a Royal Mail delivery early doors, quicker than expected which surprised me with all the strikes. (Another present for eldest DGD, one more expected tomorrow from the Big River then that's the last of my presents bought I think!)
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for the poorlies, fed up and MIA. MEHEFIN I hope you are on the mend at last with the new anti b's. Take care all and keep warm x

TAFF that took me back too to my school days! Our German teacher (Doktor Berger) insisted we learn the German version. I can hear her even now. How we loved that teacher she taught us all sorts of naughty words and phrases in German! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8
