  • thanks Robbo & GenieBoy; i’ve decided to close my ac and go on a pay down plan… i can have that at my old rate.
    Probably for the best.

I had this when Halifax put my Clarity card up from 12.9% to 19.9% - I just closed it down & luckily didn't carry a balance as I just used it for travel.

Had an email today about the introduction of fees (overlimit and cash withdrawal) from 30th March. Only really used the card abroad and the odd transaction to keep it active so have decided to close (Have never paid interest or withdrawn cash) and have another option for abroad now.

I also had a rate hike and fees notification email. Looks like a tooth-and-nail review of their credit card book. Only ever used it for Fee free and Interest free cash withdrawals, not real spending, so that game's up now. No more 7 week interest free loans. Another card to ditch. They're probably pleased to be rid of me.

I've had this email too. The no fees were a big selling point of the card for many although I always paid mine off every month.
