Is it actually possible to be billed monthly by British Gas?

Yes, I paid monthly on receipt of bill. You pay more not paying via direct debit. I wasn't given a frequency option, they just set it up monthly.

Speak to someone else there as you will get different responses depending who you speak to. If they don't know the answer they generally just lie to you to get you to go.

It's certainly possible, as my BG bill shows.

I find this annoying with BG. My gas smart meter isn’t smart so I don’t get a running total on the app like the electric.
even submitting gas meter readings doesn’t update my credit balance to show the usage being deducted. 
 

I ended up building my own spreadsheet so I can plug in my monthly meter reads & it works out the cost. I’m updating December’s gas read daily & adding in the electric from the app so I can track how much of my £689 credit I’ve already used up since the last bill on 1st September. 

Shouldn’t have to do that just to be able to track how much money I’m spending on energy because BG don’t want to bill more often than every 6 months.
