Big button mobile cut off when receive outgoing calls

Options
Bought a big button mobile from eBay. When I took the battery off to insert the sim, I could not replace it. I find the battery has swollen and had to put another one. I tested the phone and it was working that was on the 6th. Yesterday I have noticed every time I receive an outside calls it cut itself off. It cost about £9 and was going to let it go but am annoyed that’s the second time it happens to me last time the pr of shoes I bought disintegrated after one wear. In his listing no returns accepted. Any advice what can I do? I cannot file under item not as described as it seems to be working on receipt but I would not have known it will cut off when receiving outside calls. Thanks

On eBay select 'Return Item' giving 'Item is defective' as the reason.

Writing 'No returns accepted' in this listing is more or less meaningless if the item turns out to be defective or not as described.

eBay will instruct the seller to either send you a return label or issue a refund if he/she doesn't want it back.

A man walked into a car showroom.
He said to the salesman, “My wife would like to talk to you about the Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
Salesman said, “We haven't got a Volkswagen Golf in the showroom window.”
The man replied, “You have now mate".

If it's not working then you can return it. I think there's a 30 day window.
I'm not sure if the OP will be able to select "return item" if its from a private seller that doesn't accept returns. but anyway, if not you can always open a SNAD(significantly not as described) case

it's not entirely meaningless. twice this year I've had people try to return stuff as they have just changed their mind, or didn't bother reading the description in the first place, and I simply said "it's exactly what was in the 12 pictures and described perfectly, I don't accept returns goodbye" and that was the end of it.
luckily for me they didn't know the SNAD trick, i.e a buyer can just lie and say anything they want a get it returned for free

Depends if business or private seller. If its a business then standard consumer rights apply and you have 14 days to cancel for any reason.

I was referring to this situation as stating 'No returns accepted' does not mean this seller can refuse a return of a defective item. I will edit my earlier post to make that clear.

You were indeed lucky as it would appear that many if not most eBay buyers are aware that they can get around a no returns policy by claiming SNAD or defective etc even if it is just buyers remorse or change of mind.

That would be sufficient to win a SNAD case (assuming that it wasn't mentioned in the listing), regardless of any issues with incoming calls.

Going to leave it at my loss. Cannot bother will the hassle, that’s the second time it happened to me. The first time a pr of shoes I really like excellent condition on receipt but sole disintegrate on first wear. It’s going to cost £3.35 to return and with postal strike going on as well and there is the possibility I will not win my case. Thanks for your advice.

Completely up to you of course but I don’t think you are fully understanding the SNAD process. You open a case, eBay find in your favour and issue you a pre paid tracked return label?

How is that costing you £3.35? You don’t even get a label unless you win the case, and assuming you are within the time frame allowed it is rare for a buyer to lose.

Thanks if I understand correctly I do not post the item  myself at my cost and if  I win the case ebay will send me a return label to post back. I thought I had to return the item at my cost. This has happened to me twice what stopped me from filing a SNAD as I thought I had to pay for the return items. Thank you for clarifying this for me.

An SNAD claim requires the seller to pay for return, a change of mind return for non faulty items is paid for by the buyer.
