Washing machine Waste Pipe Attached To Machine

I'm looking to install my new washing machine.

The waste pipe was clipped round the back of the machine during transit. It popped out of some of the clips with ease, but one clip seems sealed.

I need the extra length, so ideally need to unclip it from the clip shown in the photos below. Is there a reason why it's clipped firmly in here and not in other places?

helps to avoid pinched pipe as you push back... particularly if you're connecting to a very low down waste outlet. Maybe also to standardise any syphoning effects.   If you need the length, just undo that screw, but be careful to avoid trapping anything as you place the washing machine back in place. You could even put a hook / string connector above your waste pipe if it really worried you.
And of course don't forget to remove those three transport bolts!

I see all four remaining. Am I mistaken?

    1. The hose clip is screwed shut to ensure the hose rises to the top of the machine before going into the waste connection.
    2. If you undo it, make sure the other end of the hose rises to the level of the top of the machine before going down into the waste.
    3. If you run the hose at low level and then up into the waste connection, some water will remain in the hose after draining.  This can cause smells.

Make sure you connect it correctly, so that waste cannot flow into the machine.
    This, IMO, is absolutely incorrect:

connecting washing machine to sink waste - MoneySavingExpertcom Forums Washing machine in kitchen Washing machine installation Dishwasher installation

    Correct connection:
Connecting a washing machine or dishwasher to the water supply and drainage  Laundry Standpipe - Maplewood Plumbing
