I am all ready for christmas this year. But when my eldest son was born on the 10th dec 35 years ago I certainly wasn't. I was in hospital for 2 weeks before he was born and 10 days after. So we hobbled (me) round town 2 days before christmas and got what we could. It really didn't matter.Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination:beer:

17 presents still waiting to be delivered to works address and we shut on Thursday :eek::eek::eek::eek:
There was me thinking I'd use work address like I have every other time so I didn't have to schlep along to the post office to pick up parcels - and the mail seems so stuffed this year that things are taking an age and my stuff won't come before Christmas shutdown
At least tree is up and wii is bought and stuff it, I'll have to run round town getting replacements for non delivered stuff and return it all in the New Year - but it'll be reetComps £2016 in 2016 - 1 wins = £530 26.2%

I am feeling abit panic striken too. Tree is up but NO cleaning has been done and i have just had my kitchen refitted so have boxes in the living room and kitchen.. Sounds so simple but i have a broken leg /pins and plate in my leg so its very hard to do anything
All shopping (gifts) has been done. I just need royal mail etc to bring them
Tonight i am writing a list.
Cards i need to write/ post
Gifts to wrap
Things to buy still
Shopping / food list
Things that need moving and putting away.
For you its putting up decorations too
If you then split your list into a couple of things you must do each day. It doesnt seem to sound so bad then
I think when we say we have so much to do we worry so much and then dont get stuck in. Set yourself a few achievable goals. Then go have a bubble bath or big glass of wine as a reward
My friend and nephew were both born on Christmas Evefurrypig says:my name is Choccy and I am addicted to nose free stamps as I want to save them all and give them noses!!!:rotfl:
About me. Im Choccy or Chocolate orange depending on where i am.Yes occasionally i am a total looon who spends too long online, but no where near as much £ as her spendy elves do ..:D0 -
:rotfl: littlejaffa thanks for the laugh, it tickled me silly reading your post. I think if I were you I'd be hyper-ventilating by now.
I'm not organised by any stretch but I always put the deccies up on the 1st, always go non perishable food shopping 2 weeks before xmas day, always get nearly all the presents in one day. I write a heck of a lot of lists and get all the xmas catalogues from the stores way before hand so I know what I've got to get and from where. I'm definately a creature of habit. We decorated the whole house top to bottom, started about six weeks ago and I was in a blind panic thinking it wouldn't all be done but it is and I wonder why I panicked now.
chocolate.oranges advice sounds great, bit by bit and it will all get done.0 -
