I'm starting to panic. One week to go!

I'm starting to panic. Less than a week to go and I'm not ready.
I'm telling myself that Christmas has never happened without me being ready before, so I'm not likely to miss it this year either. But I can feel the panic rising.
I've bought most of the presents, certainly all the important ones, but they are not wrapped.
I've bought the Christmas cards and even written some of them, but haven't posted any.
I've got the decorations out of my loft, but they are not up yet.
I'm planning a party for Sunday, but I've only invited 4 people so far.
I've bought the Christmas booze, mince pies, pud Christmas cake, cranberry sauce, but not enough to make a meal yet.
HELP
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and I'll smash your face in. :D

Sounds like you are more or less under control...honest!
Breathe deeply and tackle one thing at a time.

I've had a slight hiccup from boots today (see other post) but other than that all presents bought and wrapped. Oh apart from a CD that is on it's way and needs posting by the end of the week but I have explained to my brother in law it's on it's way.

Slightly panicking about food now as we have visitors all over the holidays. I have made a list of things I'd like to cook but now need to do a shopping list and buy stuff (although have lots of meat and fish in the freezer prepared). Oh and need to start baking too! Have some friends round tonight for mince pies and mulled wine that are not actually yet made!!! whoops.

Never mind it will get done in the end....

    Don't panic. :D

My daughter was born on the 15th of December, 12 years ago, and i'd nothing bought. I thought i'd get it all done once we got home. Ha! She was in the special nursery and had 2 operations before she was 8 days old. I was sat in my hospital bed writing my list from an Argos catalogue! It all got done in the end. If I ever feel panicked, I think back to then, and I know it'll work out.

    You'll be fine. ;)

have you remembered to plan for the spontantious fun??

We've just moved house and had a new heating system put in so the whole house is in dust, i haven't got a dinning table yet, no wardrobes etc all my pressies are still in the boxes they arrived in, no cards written, no decs up, no food shopping done and we have 14 people arriving on friday for 2 weeks. And i know there's people in a worse mess than me just now....really we're lucky that parties and gifts is all we've got to worry about.
Trust me, if i know it'll be alright, you've really nothing to worry about!

Only advice i can give is make a bit of time for youself to beautify and relax so you can enjoy all the hard work you put in.
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.

Have a large drink and breath deeply. Post the cards you've written. Get the decoration out the loft. Have another drink. Make a list of what you need to buy and what you need for you party and carry on from there. You will be fine.

The 23rd of December is my mum's birthday - so she probably ruined her mum's. :D

Not sure if i ruined my Mums xmas ( i was born 23rd as well) but my son didnt ruin mine when he came on xmas day 16 years ago 12 weeks early.. hes still the best xmas present i could have had.

still it does mean our house can be a tad hetic for a few days, 2 birthdays and christmas all at once.
Any way doesnt sound as if you are too far behind with all your xmas preperation Christmas shopper, i'm sure when you put your mind to it you can deal with those things you have left to do reallay quickly, me im still buying pressies, got cards to do.. food to buy.. but what the heck..its xmas.. and my birthday.. so im happy
