it doesn't sound as if you are completely over it

I think it would be wise to seek some counselling: things like this don't just 'go away.' you need to put it behind you and move on, which is very much harder than it sounds.

Sounds like you have been through an emotional wringer and on a roller coaster too.

I can't comprehend spending that amount of money on food- unless of course, your income is sky high.
mine has never been that, and having been brought up with no spare cash it is in the genes to be frugal / careful even a tad miserly!!

    Wishing you lots of luck

I think one of the ways forward for you would be to have a wish list / bucket list: outings, events, trips that are exciting, fun and memorable especially with your boys & grandchildren.

    Onwards and upwards

I don't know if I will ever be completely over it, it has taught me a lot of lessons.

That is the problem she did not spend that amount on food, after all I took her shopping to M&S, Morrisons and Sainsbury's I used to push the trolley, the expenditure was about £350 per month, she was a con artist and a compulsive liar. At the time, it appeared that nobody would agree with me that £700 was excessive.

I have a bucket list, have just had one have seen my 4 year old grandson play Joseph in his Nativity Play, that was Priceless. We are all going to Centre Parcs next year.

However, I will try some more counselling.

    and more of the same
Good experiences don't have to cost a fortune.

I am wondering if a Gratitude diary would be helpful for you because you need to dwell on the good and not the bad.

Every night you jot down 3 good things that have happened that day.

    • They can be teeny things like:
    •  my next door neighbour waved to say hello
    •   it was a sparkling sunny day, made me feel happy
    • heard my favourite song on the radio.
    • friend X phoned for a chat

    you get the gist
End the day on a positive note & smile at your good fortune

    Keep smiling :)
Thankyou for this, I am in my forever home, I do count my blessing everyday.

I only did this to confirm my suspicions, when I look at the world on TV, I am grateful, honestly.

I was wondering how mobile you are (seeing as you were talking about ready meals etc.)
Do you manage to get out?

Thinking it might be interesting for you to join a local men's shed- not necessarily to actually make things! but for some company.
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Have company at Rugby Club and once a month dinner. Thank you for your concern.
