Conifers and bulbs?
Just dawned on me, will the conifer roots 'poison' the soil and stop the bulbs growing?
Anyone know?
Thanks.

No, the bulbs will be fine, this year at least because everything required by the bulb is already stored within itThe following years may be different due to the conifer using all the nutrients before the bulbs get a chance to store food but feeding blood, fish & bone after flowering may helpEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Excellent Farway.
Next year will be something different.
At £1,50 each it seemed like a good idea at the time.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

Himself bought me one of those arrangements that was a little tree with tete-a-tetes and primroses round it. The first year it was lovely, the second year was fewer tetes and one primrose, by year 3 or 4 it was just a tiny wee tree. I left it for my buyer when I moved....I removed the shell from my racing snail, but now it's more sluggish than ever.1

Funny Blue, but yes, I'd expect so.
I do tip out bulbs after the first season and start again.
Right at the beginning of autumn, hard to remember, it looked like all flowers an early demise so I wanted something to look at from my patio view so seemed a clever idea.
Ill try and be more patient.
My anxiety was fuelled by the possibility that te baby greengage tree was partly killed by a yew nearby.I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

The yew sprang up behind the fence right by greengage but I didn't realise. You keep hearing how slow they grow - seems not true..
Tried to get it out but the roots are entwined with the badger proof netting.
It's on the list which gets longer every dayI can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
